Thug Life box office Day 3: Kamal Haasan, Silambarasan's film crawls past Rs 30 crore
The Tamil film 'Thug Life', directed by Mani Ratnam and starring Kamal Haasan, has struggled to cross the Rs 30-crore mark within its first three days at the domestic box office. Despite being a highly anticipated release, the film managed to earn only Rs 7.5 crore on Saturday, offering slight respite after a sharp dip in collections on Day opening to a respectable Rs 15.5 crore on Day 1, Thug Life witnessed a steep drop of 53.87 percent on Day 2, earning just Rs 7.15 crore. Its Day 3 collections remained flat, with the film adding only Rs 7.5 crore to its total. Despite its stellar cast, the film appears to be impacted by lukewarm to industry tracker the Tamil version recorded its highest occupancy on Day 3 during the evening shows, with an overall footfall of 39.12 percent. On the global front, 'Thug Life' has reportedly grossed around Rs 60-65 crore worldwide by the end of Day 3.
