Witness appeal after cyclist dies in Barnsley hit-and-run
A cyclist has died after being hit by a car which failed to stop in 43-year-old man was cycling on Pontefract Road at 19:43 BST on Friday, when he was hit by a silver BMW, near the junction with Beevor Yorkshire Police said the cyclist was treated at the roadside but died from his said the BMW involved in the incident was later located and a man, 24, had been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and failing to stop.
A spokesperson for the force said the man had been released on bail, pending further investigation of the incident."We are now urging anyone who witnessed the collision or anyone with relevant information or footage, including dashcam, CCTV or doorbell, to please get in contact with us," they added.
