One dead, three hospitalized in multi-vehicle crash in Dauphin County
HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) — One person was killed and three other people were hospitalized, including two juveniles, with severe injuries after a multi-vehicle crash in Dauphin County last evening. According to State Police in Harrisburg, on June 6 at around 5:53 a.m., a 2007 Pontiac G6 was traveling south on North Hertzler Road in Londonderry Township, Dauphin County when it refused to stop at a stop sign. Police say the Pontiac entered the intersection without obeying the stop sign and struck an oncoming 2005 Ford F-350. Police say after the initial impact, the vehicles both traveled off the roadway onto the embankment off the south side of East Harrisburg Pike. Close Thanks for signing up! Subscribe Now Police said an occupant of the Pontiac, later identified as 47-year-old Michael Eckenrod, of Elizabethtown, was declared deceased at the scene, and a passenger sustained serious injuries and was transported to Milton Hershey Hospital. Both occupants of the Ford F-350, a 17-year-old male driver and a 16-year-old female passenger, also suffered serious injuries and were transported to Milton Hershey Hospital, per police. State Police are currently investigating the crash. The conditions of the injured patients are currently unknown. This is a developing story. CT man suffers life-threatening injuries in crash on I-84 off-ramp in Waterbury
A man was seriously injured during a crash in the early morning hours on Friday on Interstate 84 in Waterbury where police said he veered off an exit ramp and struck a guardrail. The crash occurred shortly after midnight on the eastbound side of the highway on the Exit 23 off-ramp, according to Connecticut State Police. A 43-year-old Bloomfield man was driving a 2007 Pontiac G6 in the center or right lane when he lost control and veered into the right shoulder, striking a metal beam guardrail, state police said. He suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken in an ambulance to Saint Mary's Hospital in Waterbury, according to state police. The Pontiac had to be towed from the scene because of the damage it sustained. The crash remains under investigation. Accidents: Accident damages three parked vehicles
Jun. 4—No citations were issued Monday in a domino-effect accident involving four vehicles in Creston. According to a Creston Police report, at approximately 9:49 p.m. a 2008 Pontiac G6, driven by Jason A. Lohoff, 52, of Creston, was southbound on Elm Street when Lohoff says three people ran into the street and caused him to swerve. As Lohoff swerved, the Pontiac clipped the driver's side mirror of a 2021 Cadillac CT4, then struck a 2013 BMW 328XI, both legally parked on the west side of the street. The BMW was pushed forward causing it to hit a 2022 Hyundai Kona, parked in front of it. Damage to the Pontiac was estimated at $1,500; damage to the Cadillac was estimated at $300; damage to the BMW was estimated at $1,500 and damage to the Hyundai was estimated at $400. — — — — — No injuries were reported in a single-vehicle accident Tuesday in the Iowa State Savings Bank parking lot off of Taylor Street in Creston. According to a Creston Police report, at approximately 11:17 a.m. a 2023 Chrysler Voyager, driven by Ashely M. Hysell, 38, of Corydon, was exiting the parking lot when Hysell realized she had forgotten something. Hysell put the van in reverse and began backing up through the lot and struck a concrete pole. Damage to the Chrysler was estimated at $2,500. No damage was caused to the pole.

Adair County: Driver more than triple the legal limit arrested
Jun. 4—Osvaldo Moran-Salas, 22, of Des Moines, was taken into custody 12:50 a.m. May 25, in Adair on the charge of driving while barred. According to an Adair Police report, at approximately 11:54 p.m May 24, Moran-Salas was observed driving a John Deere Gator UTV with no headlights or taillights on Delta Ave/Fifth Street. The UTV pulled into the Casey's General Store in Adair and Moran-Salas exited from the driver's position. His information was ran and he was found to have a barred license. Moran-Salas was transported to the Adair County Jail where he was released from after posting $2,000 cash or surety bond. — — — — — Tracey M. Fazio, 57, of Des Moines, was taken into custody 9:45 p.m. May 26, at the westbound rest area of Interstate 80 in Adair on the charge of OWI, first offense and issued a citation for open container. According to an Iowa State Patrol report, at approximately 6:45 p.m. a 2009 Pontiac G6 pulled into the the rest area and hit a semi-trailer. The Pontiac had been previously reported for erratic driving. When troopers arrived at the rest area, the Pontiac was still making contact with the semi, but neither had reportable damage. Contact was made with the driver of the Pontiac, identified as Fazio, who had slurred, thick-tongued speech and required assistance when walking to the patrol car. The odor of an alcoholic beverage was detected coming from the vehicle. Fazio handed troopers an open bottle of Southern Comfort that was approximately two-thirds empty. She admitted the bottle was full when she started drinking. Fazio consented to field sobriety testing during which clues of impairment were observed. She consented to a PBT, which indicated her BrAC to be .286%. Fazio was transported to the Adair County Jail where she consented to provide a breath sample for testing. The test indicated her BAC to be .272%. Fazio was released from the Adair County Jail after posting $1,000 cash or surety bond. — — — — — Jason E. Caldwell, 53, of Stuart, was taken into custody 10:56 p.m. May 27, in the 1700 block of Sheldon Avenue in Stuart on a Guthrie County warrant for the charge of failure to appear. He was released directly to the custody of Guthrie County Sheriff's Office. — — — — — Silas J. Foster, 18, of Fontanelle, was taken into custody 3:23 a.m. May 30, at East Iowa and Northeast Fourth Street in Greenfield on the charges of OWI, first offense and possession of alcohol under age 21. According to an Adair County report, at approximately 2:39 a.m. a 2005 Buick LeSabre was observed in a parking lot of the northwest corner of the intersection with its lights on and the driver's side door open. Deputies did not believe it was occupied initially from a distance. After approaching the vehicle, a male was observed lying in the driver's seat. The keys of the car were still in the ignition and an open bottle of alcohol was observed in the front passenger's seat. The male, later identified as Foster by an ID found in a wallet in the door of the vehicle, appeared to have vomited on himself. He initially resisted instruction to exit the vehicle, but finally did and was sat on the ground near the back of his car. Foster was dry-heaving, very unsteady on his feet and unable to answer questions in a manner that made sense, including being able to say where he was. EMS was called to assist. A probable cause search was conducted of the vehicle. Open alcohol containers and a used vape cartridge were located, which Foster is not of age to possess After being checked by medics, Foster consented to field sobriety testing and showed indicators of impairment. He refused a PBT. Foster was transported to the Adair County Jail for further testing. He consented to provide a breath sample for chemical testing, the result of which indicated his BAC to be .143%. Foster was cited and released on a summons to appear.

Man here illegally charged with battery after striking deputy: Polk County Sheriff's Office
POLK COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) — The Polk County Sheriff's Office said a man here illegally from Venezuela has been charged with battery after striking a deputy while trying to flee a traffic stop. A deputy pulled over a Pontiac G6 early Sunday morning due to an expired registration sticker. The driver, 57-year-old Jose Adorno Pabon of Wahneta, told the deputy he did not speak English and didn't have a drivers license. The passenger, 37-year-old Jhonnys Robles Pereira, got out of the car and began moving toward the deputy, ignoring commands to stay inside the vehicle. The sheriff's office said Pereira then ran at the deputy and struck him before fleeing on foot. The deputy was able to catch up to Pereira, deploy his taser and take him into custody. The driver, Pabon, attempted to flee the traffic stop while the deputy chased Pereira, but was later stopped and apprehended by backup units in the area. During their investigation, deputies learned that Pabon did have a valid driver's license, but he hadn't yet obtained insurance or registered the recently purchased vehicle. Pabon showed signs of impairment during the traffic stop and told deputies he had five beers. He was arrested for DUI and charged with fleeing to elude, resisting arrest, DUI, attaching an unassigned tag, operating a vehicle without registration and failure to maintain vehicle insurance. Deputies confirmed with ICE that Pereira was in the country illegally, which upgraded his charges.
