Renowned California hairstylist found stabbed to death
CASE UPDATE: On April 11, 2025, a jury found Monica Sementill, 53, guilty of murder and conspiracy for masterminding the murder of her husband Fabio, with special circumstances of murder for financial gain and murder while lying in wait. WOODLAND HILLS, Calif. — A well-known hairstylist was found stabbed to death Monday afternoon on the back patio of his California home, reports CBS Los Angeles. Fabio Sementilli's wife and daughter discovered his body around 5 p.m., according to police. The 49-year-old had been stabbed several times in the face, neck and upper body, police said. Investigators say two men broke into Sementilli's home and drove off in his black 2008 Porsche 911 Carrera with paper plates. Sementilli was Vice President of Education for Wella, a German hair-care company. He was nicknamed "big daddy" and was passionate about mentoring others in the hair styling industry. Wella Education posted on Facebook: "Our hearts are broken. He will be sorely missed." At Sementilli's home on Tuesday, he was praised by Eden Sassoon, the daughter of another industry icon, Vidal Sassoon, and star of the Bravo reality show Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills. "A man that truly cared. Excuse my French, he gave a [expletive]. It made a difference," said Sassoon, who called Sementilli a mentor and friend, in an interview with CBS Los Angeles. "I don't know when and if in (Sementilli's family's) lifetime those shoes can be filled. He really stood out. When you say his name, you smile," Sassoon said. The future of Morgan Motor Company is here. The historic British marque just unveiled its new flagship, the Supersport, on Tuesday. The launch offers a contemporary take on Morgan's storied designs while housing a bevy of new tech to bring it into the 21st century. The newest entrance on the market is the company's attempt to rival other daily drivers, such as the Porsche 911 Carrera. The new car also offers up an interchangeable carbon-composite hard top and a folding mohair soft top, so you can transform it into a convertible whenever you please. Besides its sleek, minimalist design, the Supersport has plenty of power under the hood, TopGear reported. The new ride comes equipped with a B58 TwinPower Turbo inline six-cylinder engine from BNW, which has been a longtime partner of Morgan's auto endeavors. That straight six produces 335 bph for the new car, and it's connected to a ZP eight-speed automatic gearbox. As for torque, you can expect 369 ft. lbs., along with a zero-to-62-mph time of 3.9 seconds and a 166 mph top speed. The Supersport also houses an all-new CXV aluminum platform, an upgrade on the previous-gen CX Generation Aluminum platform that increases torsional rigidity by 10 percent. You can gain a further 10 percent increase if you adorn that carbon-fiber hard top on your new ride. (Suspension mounting point stiffness is up 100 percent). This new platform weighs in at about 225 pounds (102 kilograms), while the older iteration sat at nearly 214 pounds (97 kilograms.) Steering got an upgrade, too: It's now 13 percent quicker than Morgan's previous Plus Six model. In the interior, that's where you'll see plenty of the modern tech shine. The Supersport offers a wireless charging pad, a Sennheiser auto system, and a driver's digital display. Though Morgan's classic retro touches still remain, with plenty of analog gauges in the middle of the dash. The wood on the door card, meanwhile, can be done up in 11 finishes, from engineered marquetry to traditional walnut. Morgan's Supersport is priced from about $110,000 (£85,000 pounds), and it comes in a plethora of color combos to tailor the ride to your liking. 'The launch of the Morgan Supersport marks the culmination of five years of exploration, craftsmanship, and collaboration—our bold vision of 21st-century coachbuilding,' Jonathan Wells, Morgan's chief design officer, said in a statement. 'It has been a passion project for our team, an opportunity to push boundaries and define what a flagship Morgan can be.' The Morgan Motor Company has been releasing vehicles from its headquarters in Malvern, U.K., for over 110 years. One of Britain's longest-running motor manufacturers, the company produces cars imbued with British DNA, mixing modern tech with traditional craftsmanship that's been a part of its storied history since the beginning. As for other Morgan launches, the car maker is actually bringing its retro-style Plus Four roadster back to the U.S. market this month. Porsche 911 Carjacked At Dealership During Service Visit
Read the full story on The Auto Wire A Porsche 911 Carrera was carjacked at gunpoint by suspects outside a dealership in Memphis, Tennessee on February 24. Thankfully, the victims, a father and his son, weren't hurt in the ordeal. But this crime shows that you always have to be on the lookout for potential carjackers, a sad reality we live in these the father and son were parking the Porsche in the rear parking lot of the dealership, a black BMW crossover pulled up alongside. One man got out and was wearing a ski mask plus hoodie. The victims saw the suspect had a gun as he ordered them out of the car and he took off with it. For many car theft stories, that's the end. Sometimes the vehicle is found later stripped of many parts, perhaps even just a husk without wheels or body panels. But this story gets far more interesting. Doing some investigative work, Memphis Police recognized the Bimmer as one stolen from a hotel back on February 15. They started looking for the vehicle and eventually found it on February 25, with the aviation unit involved. That might have involved drones or a helicopter, we're not sure. Three people were in the BMW. The driver, 23-year-old Averion Finley, is a convicted felon who was in possession of a Glock with an illegal switch installed, say police. He also apparently had a schedule three controlled substance, marijuana, and oxycodone, plus the stolen vehicle's key. Needless to say, he's facing a list of charges. The passengers, Jayden Hastings and Brianna Watkins, both 18, were hit with charges for possession of a controlled substance with the intent to manufacture/deliver/sell plus theft of property. What's curiously not mentioned by Memphis Police is the Porsche 911. We think had they recovered it they would've mentioned that, but instead there's not a peep about it in the report. Maybe they're hot on the trail of who has it now, or so we hope. Just remember, even at a car dealership you need to keep your guard up. Car thieves are everywhere.
