Wizz Air axes all flights to Abu Dhabi forcing customers to rebook

If you were planning on heading to Abu Dhabi this autumn, you might want to look a little closer at your travel options, as Wizz Air is set to stop all flights to and from the city. From 1 September 2025, the budget airline will no longer serve the capital of the United Arab Emirates. Abu Dhabi is known as the 'Orlando of the Middle East' due to its many theme parks, including Warner Bros World and Ferrari World. Disney is set to open a new resort there in 2032. But it's bad news for travellers who had already booked some winter sun. Wizz Air say existing bookings won't be honoured — but customers shouldn't find themselves out of pocket. In a statement to Metro, the carrier said: 'Passengers with existing bookings beyond 31 August 2025 will be contacted directly via email with options for refunds or alternative travel arrangements. 'Customers who booked through third-party providers are advised to contact their respective agents.' Fuel your wanderlust with our curated newsletter of travel deals, guides and inspiration. Sign up here. The airline confirmed that no other flights to other destinations will be affected. Wizz Air has been operating out of Zayed International Airport for four years, but says it is now focusing on 'Central and Eastern Europe and select Western markets' instead. The carrier added that the decision was made due to 'a comprehensive reassessment of market dynamics, operational challenges, and geopolitical developments in the Middle East.' Travel across the region was thrown into chaos in June, after Israel launched a surprise attack on Iran. Qatar temporarily closed its airspace and hundreds of flights were cancelled and diverted, with many redirecting to the UAE hubs of Dubai and Abu Dhabi. More Trending József Váradi, CEO of Wizz Air, said: 'We have had a tremendous journey in the Middle East and are proud of what we have built. I thank our highly dedicated employees for their relentless efforts and commitment for developing the WIZZ brand in new and dynamic markets. 'However, the operating environment has changed significantly. Supply chain constraints, geopolitical instability, and limited market access have made it increasingly difficult to sustain our original ambitions. 'While this was a difficult decision, it is the right one given the circumstances. 'We continue to focus on our core markets and on initiatives that enhance Wizz Air's customer proposition and build shareholder value.' Do you have a story to share? This Anker Solix C1000 Portable Power Station Matches Its Black Friday Price as Amazon Clears Out Stock

It really pays to have a good portable power station these days. Whether you're going camping for a long weekend, spending all day at the beach, or you just want a backup in case something happens to the power grid, having one of these devices around can be a huge help. They're very expensive normally though, so you're nearly always best off waiting for a really good deal. See at Amazon Well, we just so happen to have found a really good deal today, and on a really good brand. The Anker Solix C1000 Portable Power Station is a mighty option, and while it'd normally set you back $799 on Amazon, it's currently a massive 44% off, making it just $449 right now. This is a limited-time deal though, so we're not expecting it to last long. If you want this for this price, make sure you act quickly to avoid missing out. More Power This portable power station has a lot of stuff going for it. One of the best things about it is that it has an incredibly fast charge time. In just 43 minutes of charging, this thing will have 80% of its battery capacity. It's durable too, and can manage 3,000 battery cycles over a 10-year period, meaning it should be good for even the most hardcore outdoorsy types. It can also deliver up to 2400W of output, which means it can comfortably power the vast majority of appliances, and it has 11 ports and can charge multiple devices at once if it needs to. It just means it can do basically everything you need it to, so you won't need a second one. If you do want to upgrade though, then getting some solar panels can allow it to passively charge throughout the day, and makes for a great way to stay powered-up even on longer trips. You can even customize how it delivers power using the Anker app, meaning it's easier than ever to really fine-tune it to your own needs. It's a small benefit that not everyone is going to use, but those who want to will adore being able to really take control of this device. That's an awful lot of good for just $449 (-44%), but just keep in mind that it's unlikely to stay at this price for very long because of how Amazon's limited-time deals work. Make sure you grab this one now if you like the look of it. See at Amazon
