IIM Lucknow welcomes 643 students in PGP flagship and doctoral programmes with 3 day induction; 30% women in diverse cohort
MUMBAI: The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Lucknow inaugurated its academic year by welcoming 643 students into its flagship Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGP), Post Graduate Programme in Agribusiness Management (PGP-ABM), Post Graduate Programme in Sustainable Management (PGP-SM), and the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programme. The commencement was marked by a comprehensive three-day induction programme that began on 24 June 2025. This year's batch reflects a growing diversity at the institute. Women make up 30% of the cohort, while 50.7% of the students have an engineering background, and the remaining 49.3% come from non-engineering disciplines. Notably, 32% of students in the PGP and 68% in the PGP-ABM programmes are fresh graduates. The inaugural event was graced by Ananth Narayan G, Whole Time Member at the Securities and Exchange Board of India and an alumnus from the Class of 1993. IIMK welcomes 586 students, records 51% women in MBA programmes
The Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode (IIMK) has inducted 586 students into its full-time postgraduate programmes for the academic years 2025-2027. In a notable achievement, the institute has reported 51% gender diversity across its three MBA offerings, marking the fourth time in a decade that it has admitted more women than men in its full-time MBA flagship Post Graduate Programme (PGP) 2025–27 batch, also known as PGP-29, includes 489 students, 55% of whom are women. This number stands out against the 36% share of women among CAT 2024 applicants from the PGP, the institute also welcomed new batches for two specialised programmes-the Post Graduate Programme in Finance (PGP-Fin) and the Post Graduate Programme in Liberal Studies and Management (PGP-LSM)-as well as the 19th batch of doctoral candidates under the Fellow Programme in Management (FPM). IIMK's PGP-29 cohort reflects a broad academic mix. Around 53% of students come from non-engineering backgrounds, continuing the trend of academic diversity seen in recent batch also shows wide regional representation, with students from Delhi, Maharashtra, and Uttar Pradesh making up 35% of the total.
