Heartfelt reason Ozzy Osbourne's rarely seen daughter Aimee kept career 'a secret'
Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne's eldest daughter Aimee Osbourne shared her true thoughts on diving into the music industry, after distancing herself from her family's fame Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne 's rarely seen daughter Aimee Osbourne once opened up about the heartfelt reason she chose to keep her career hidden. Being born to famous parents, the 41-year-old admitted she feared being seen as a "nepo baby", a term used to describe someone who gains success or opportunities through familial connections. Unlike her younger siblings Jack and Kelly Osbourne, Aimee decided not to take part in the family's popular MTV reality show, The Osbournes, as well as other projects such as their family podcast. Instead, the singer opted to pursue a career of her own. Reflecting on her journey into music, Aimee said she was "shy" about singing at first, until one of her mother's friends introduced her to songwriters. She explained: "I grew up around a lot of music and then I guess just having that kind of creative environment, it was kind of like a natural part of my everyday life. "And then I was always interested in writing music and singing, but I was very shy and almost embarrassed about it, because I didn't want that whole nepotistic thing, that just felt really awkward, so I kept it a secret." Previously speaking in an interview on the Greatest Music of All Time YouTube Channel, she went on to recall the moment that changed her perspective. "My mum's friend overheard me singing, I think in my room or something, and she said, 'Well, would you like to come and stay with me? And, I know these people that write this music, very similar to what you like, and I think you should come and see what happens'." Aimee admitted she was "very hesitant and secretive about it" at first, and "felt very shy". "Then the trip went really well and I kind of surprised myself, and then it kind of went from there," she added. After deciding to stay away from projects associated with her family, she went on to release music under the name ARO (her initials). Aimee has also starred in MTV's 2003 adaptation of Wuthering Heights and in 2014, she recorded a voiceover for Postman Pat: The Movie. In 2018, Sharon shared her thoughts on her eldest daughter's decision to keep away from the spotlight. Speaking on The Talk, she said: 'She felt too that she didn't want to grow up on camera, and so she left at 16 and I regret every day that she did.' Despite keeping her distance professionally, Aimee appeared to have a close relationship with her parents, but not so much with her siblings. On Dax Shepard's podcast, Armchair Expert, in 2021, Kelly said: 'We don't talk. We're just really different. She doesn't understand me and I don't understand her.' Earlier this week, the family put their differences aside for Ozzy's funeral, which took place in Birmingham. Understandably, the three siblings struggled to fight back tears as they supported their grieving mother Sharon, in front of a crowd of fans paying their respects. Alongside them was believed to be Ozzy's son Louis, one of his other three children from his first marriage to Thelma Riley. Ozzy died surrounded by his family on July 22. His cause of death hasn't been confirmed, though he had a string of health issues including Parkinson's Disease.

Ozzy's other legacy: The quiet lives of Louis, Aimee, and Jessica Osbourne
As mourners gathered under a slate-grey sky to bid farewell to the Prince of Darkness, they were greeted the appearance of Ozzy Osbourne's lesser-known children, stepping into public view for perhaps the first time in years. While cameras naturally gravitated toward Sharon, Kelly, and Jack, stalwarts of the reality TV era that cemented the family's fame, additional figures arrived with quieter gravitas. Lets take a look into the lives of Aimee, Louis and Jessica Osbourne, who have long lived outside the chaotic glow of the Osbourne brand. Adopted by Ozzy in 1975, he was raised in Birmingham and famously grew up away from the blaring spotlight of his father's fame. In the 1990s Louis forged his own path as a DJ, playing techno and house music across Europe, including Ibiza's Café Mambo and eventually founding record labels like Mija Recordings and All Night Artists. Today, he runs a talent agency and maintains a private life in Birmingham with his wife, Louise, and their two children. Aimee Osbourne and Ozzy Osbourne. At age 16, Aimee chose not to participate in The Osbournes TV show, citing discomfort with the intrusion and concerns about being typecast in a role that could hinder her artistic aspirations. She reportedly moved out of the family home amidst the filming to protect her privacy and independence Aimee pursued music under the moniker ARO, releasing dark, synth-pop and trip-hop tracks such as 'Raining Gold' and the album Vacare Adamaré (2020). She also had minor acting roles in the likes of Wuthering Heights and Postman Pat: The Movie, though acting has never been a central focus of her career. Though media-shy, Aimee maintains a close but distinct relationship with her parents. Her bond with siblings—particularly Kelly—is often described as distant, shaped by differing values and life choices. Despite this, Aimee put on quiet the united front with her family to honour her father's memory. Though Ozzy adopted Louis earlier, Jessica was his first birth child and became a mother to his first grandchild, Isabelle Hobbs, whom he learned about during a phone call shown in The Osbournes series. jessica was raised largely out of public view; she never appeared on the The Osbournes TV series beyond that phone call moment, and reportedly had a strained or distant relationship with Ozzy, describing him as an absent father in the God Bless Ozzy Osbourne documentary. She has worked as an actress and producer, appearing in shows like Better Call Saul and performing in stage productions such as A Midsummer Night's Dream and Little Shop of Horrors. Jessica has also directed and written for independent film and theater projects. Jessica was not named in the family's joint public statement and did not appear at the funeral in person.
