Duo arrested for duping people in govt. double bedroom housing scam

Two individuals, who posed as political insiders and issued fake housing allotment letters, conning several citizens promising allotments under the Telangana Government's Double Bedroom Housing Scheme, were arrested by the Jeedimetla police on Saturday, July 26. The accused identified as G. Sridhar and Pradeep Prasad were arrested in the Suchitra area. Police seized several items including fake allotment letters, a car, laptop, desktop computer, webcam, printer, scanner, and two mobile phones. The accused are being produced before court, and further investigation is underway. A case was booked by the Jeedimetla police on July 23 following a complaint by K. Malleshwari, who reported being defrauded by G. Sridhar. Sridhar allegedly posed as a BRS party worker and claimed close links with the Quthbullapur MLA, showing photographs of him with the political leaders. He convinced victims to pay processing and registration fees and other expenses. In collaboration with Pradeep Prasad, a Jio employee, Sridhar fabricated fake allotment letters. The forged documents were then handed over to victims as original allotments. However, no such benefits were ever delivered. The duo has been remanded to judicial custody. Earlier on July 23, the Jeedimetla police arrested Bodimi Shetty Haribabu, an assistant at the Quthbullapur MLA Camp Office for allegedly duping 84 people by promising them double-bedroom houses. The complainant had alleged that Haribabu collected ₹1 lakh from him and 83 others with an assurance of securing a government-allocated 2-BHK house, however, neither the house was allotted nor the money returned.

BJP's Hazaribag unit stages Aakrosh March against Kashmir terror attack

1 2 Chatra: BJP's Hazaribag district unit organized an Aakrosh March on Wednesday to protest the targeted killings of Hindus by terrorists in Pahalgam, Kashmir. District president Vivekanand Singh led the demonstration, accompanied by Sadar MLA Pradeep Prasad. Party leaders and workers conducted a torchlight procession from Budhwa Mahadev to Jhanda Chowk in Hazaribag city. At the gathering, speakers identified Pakistan-based Saifullah Khalid as the mastermind behind the attacks, condemning the selective targeting of Hindus based on their religious identity. The protesters demanded swift action from the central govt to eliminate the terrorists responsible for the Pahalgam attack. They also called for strong measures against the Pakistani army for allegedly sheltering the perpetrators. Speaking at the event, MLA Pradip Prasad emphasized that the attack was not just against individuals but targeted India's communal harmony and democratic values. "The entire country must unite against terrorism," he stated, adding that those responsible for shedding innocent blood must face consequences. The demonstration highlighted growing concerns over targeted religious violence and called for national unity in combating terrorism.
