Wildlife Prairie Park celebrates Mother's Day with events and activities
PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD) — A delicious Mother's Day Brunch ushers in an exciting season ahead, full of events and activities for area families at Wildlife Prairie Park.
Winter Katterhenry, an educational lead at the park and Ollie the Owl stopped by WMBD This Morning to talk more about upcoming events and activities.
Before the Mother's Day Brunch, the park will celebrate the completion of the nation's first transcontinental railroad when a golden spike placed on May 10, 1869. To commemorate that, the park's 'Prairie Zephyr' will tour people around the park to all the hot spots, all day long.
On Sunday, there's a traditional Mother's Day Brunch. There are different menus one for the early brunch at 10 a.m. and another for the later brunch at 12:30 p.m. Be sure check the web site to make your decision.
The Mother's Day brunch also includes free train rides for moms on May 11.
Other events coming in May include the 'Firecraft Survival Skills Class' on May 17, and the new 'Critters & Cocktails' mixology experience on May 23.
