Congress govt borrowed more in 20 months than KCR did in 10 years, says KTR

HYDERABAD: BRS working president KT Rama Rao on Friday alleged that the debt incurred by the Congress government under Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy in the past 20 months was more than the borrowing made by former chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao's administration over a decade. 'We have a state with strong revenues, but the Congress is incapable of governance,' Rama Rao said after unveiling Praja Yodhudu, a book on BRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao written by Mahendra Thotakuri. He said that during the Covid-19 pandemic, despite the absence of revenue, the BRS government continued welfare schemes such as Rythu Bandhu, Kalyana Lakshmi, pensions and paddy procurement. This, he said, was possible because of 'an efficient leader' at the helm. Rama Rao accused the present chief minister of focusing on raising money and 'sending bundles to Delhi' instead of working for the people. Addressing the Independence Day celebrations at Telangana Bhavan, he criticised the state government over urea shortage, noting that farmers were waiting in long queues for the fertiliser. 'Revanth Reddy has brought back the old Congress days. Independence does not just mean self-governance, but living with self-respect. Under KCR's leadership, we had that for 10 years. Now, Delhi's rule has been forced on Telangana,' he said.

Centre's data refutes Congress' debt allegations, says KTR

Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao on Friday said that the central government has given a 'slap in the face' answer to the false propaganda being spread by leaders from Rahul Gandhi to Revanth Reddy that KCR had incurred heavy debts. Rao said that the central government led by Modi had announced that the KCR government had only incurred Rs 2.80 lakh crore in its ten years of rule. The BRS working president released the book 'Praja Yodhudu' (People's Warrior), written by MahendraThotakuri, at Telangana Bhavan on Friday. The BRS leader said that it was appropriate that this book was launched on Independence Day and that it was a great gift for Telangana society, especially KCR. The BRS leader targeted the Congress leaders on the debt burden jibe, stating that the Congress is defaming KCR in the name of debts because it was unable to run the government and fulfil the promises made to the people. He asked the party activists to take the figures given by the Centre to the people. Rama Rao said that those who question what KCR has done for Telangana were not aware of the conditions of oppression on this land 25 years ago. He said that it was a misadventure to think of setting up a political party if Chandrababu, a staunch opponent of Telangana, turned the wheel at the Centre.

10-year BRS rule made Telangana top-performer: KTR

HYDERABAD The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) celebrated the 79th Independence Day at the party headquarters here on Friday, with a large number of party leaders and activists participating in the flag hoisting. Party working president K.T. Rama Rao hoisted the national flag, and leaders B. Vinod Kumar, V. Ravichandra, S. Madhusudana Chary, P. Venkatarama Reddy, Naveen Kumar Reddy, Md. Mahamood Ali, Satyavati Rathod, Tula Uma, G. Sunitha Mahender Reddy and several others, participated in the event. Speaking after hoisting the Tricolour, Mr. Rama Rao said the BRS rule from 2014 to 2023 had made the youngest State of the country achieve enviable progress in many development and welfare sectors, with key economic indicators like per capita income registering the highest growth rate in the country. The State had also achieved many successes in the farming sector by increasing the foodgrains production multi-fold, and becoming the top producer of paddy in the country. 51 times Delhi visit, but no gains However, the 20-month Congress rule had brought back the pre-2014 days with farmers forced to wait in serpentine queues even for getting one bag of urea and Delhi controlling the State's affairs. The present Chief Minister had visited Delhi 51 times during the 20 month period but achieved nothing. Later, while releasing a book titled 'Praja Yodhudu' authored by Mahendra Thotakuri, Mr. Rama Rao said that the leadership of former Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao for 10 years had made Telangana a top-performing State in many sectors, transforming the region neglected badly in the combined States by the Congress and Telugu Desam Party rulers. He stated that the Revanth Reddy Government had borrowed more loans in its 20-month rule than the 10-year rule of KCR.
