ETAG receives approval in record time to build production facility in Mangaluru
Mangaluru: ETAG Energietechnik Pvt Ltd, the Indian subsidiary of Germany-based ETAG GmbH, received approval from the development commissioner of Mangalore Special Economic Zone (MSEZ) in record time to build a state-of-the-art production facility in Mangaluru.
As part of its global expansion, ETAG is relocating operations from Germany and the Middle East to India to better serve its growing Asian customer base.
ETAG is positioned to become a key player in the energy solutions space. The company focuses on hybrid energy storage systems, ultra-fast EV charging infrastructure, and advanced power technologies. Its work supports sustainable energy in the future of mobility, placing it at the forefront of global energy innovation, stated a release.
The new MSEZ facility is expected to be operational by early 2026. The investment will facilitate research, design, development, manufacture, and deployment of energy systems and devices. This move supports India's vision to become a global innovation hub and enhance the country's role in the clean energy sector.
Dakshina Kananda MP Capt Brijesh Chowta stated that as part of the BackToOoru initiative, they had the opportunity to encourage ETAG to choose Mangaluru as their India base. he said, welcoming chairman Prakash Pereira and ETAG. Earlier this year, an expression of interest was signed between ETAG and the Mangaluru SEZ.
