Balakrishna urges industry unity amid production cost concerns
Hyderabad: Nandamuri Balakrishna was recently spotted at Prasad Labs, busy dubbing for his much-awaited film 'Akhanda 2'. While the focus was on his upcoming film, the veteran actor also engaged in a significant interaction with several prominent Tollywood producers regarding the current challenges facing the industry. Producers Maitri Ravi, Chamber President Bharat Bhushan, Gopinath Achanta, and Damodar Prasad met Balakrishna to brief him on the existing concerns plaguing the Telugu film industry. They also conveyed the latest resolutions taken by the Active Producers Guild in response to the ongoing crisis. Prasanna Kumar, Secretary of the Producers Council, was also present during the discussion. Balakrishna, known for his straightforward views, expressed strong support for the producers and offered practical advice. 'Every hero should strive to do more films each year to keep the industry running smoothly. Personally, I do four films a year,' said Balakrishna, stressing the need for consistent content flow to sustain industry momentum. He also underlined the importance of cost-effective filmmaking. 'Producers must take conscious steps to avoid unnecessary increases in production costs. Only then can we strike a balance,' he added. Addressing concerns about worker unrest and union-related issues, Balakrishna said, 'The workers are an integral part of the film industry. I am confident that all existing issues will be resolved soon.' Balakrishna's proactive involvement and optimism have given the industry a morale boost, especially at a time when the Telugu film fraternity is navigating financial constraints and internal restructuring. With 'Akhanda 2' gaining momentum and Balakrishna advocating for solutions, the industry seems poised for a much-needed revival.

‘Dirghayushman Bhava' set for theatrical release on July 11
The upcoming film Dirghayushman Bhava, starring Karthik Raju, Noel, and Misti Chakravarthy, is gearing up for a theatrical release on July 11. Directed by M. Purnanand and produced by Vankayalapati Muralikrishna under Tripura Creations, the film recently held its pre-release event at Prasad Labs in Hyderabad. At the event, Telugu Film Producers Council President K.L. Damodar Prasad unveiled the trailer, actor O. Kalyan released the promos, and Jabardasth R.P. launched the film's songs. Speaking at the event, Damodar Prasad welcomed new producers into the industry but advised that they first understand the intricacies of cinema before stepping in. He appreciated the cast and content, expressing confidence in the film's potential to entertain. Distributor Natty Kumar, releasing the film through Natty's Entertainments, highlighted the challenges faced by small films. He appealed for specific show slots and affordable ticket pricing to support low-budget ventures. 'This film is perfect for family viewing,' he added. Actor Jabardasth R.P. voiced his support, stating that films backed by Natty Kumar usually deliver strong content. He stressed the need for industry reforms to help smaller films thrive. Producer Muralikrishna shared his excitement about the film's theatrical debut, calling it an emotional journey. Director Purnanand described the movie as a "socio-fantasy" with universal comedy elements. The ensemble cast includes Amani, Kashi Vishwanath, Satyam Rajesh, Getup Srinu, and Thagubothu Ramesh. Cinematography is by Malhar Bhat Josh, music by Vinod, and editing by Kishore Maddali.

‘Veede Mana Vaarasudu'pre-release event creates buzz
A film carrying a socially relevant message, Veede Mana Vaarasudu held its grand pre-release event at Prasad Labs, Hyderabad. Headlined by multi-talented Ramesh Uppu (RSU), who serves as the film's writer, director, producer, and lead actor, the movie stars Lavanya Reddy and Sarvani Mohan as the female leads. Prominent figures from the film and political circles attended the event, praising Ramesh Uppu's versatility and comparing him to the legendary Dasari Narayana Rao. Actor 30 Years Prithvi, directors VN Aditya and Samudra, MLA Mal Reddy Rangareddy, and Congress leader Surender Reddy were among the key guests who extended their best wishes. MLA Mal Reddy Rangareddy recalled Ramesh Uppu's earlier musical contributions and lauded his passion and talent. Tamannaah-starrer 'Odela 2' had broken even before release, says Creator Sampath Nandi
, the creator of the popular 'Odela' franchise, has disclosed that the second instalment of the franchise featuring actress in the lead, had broken even, even before its release. From then till today, everything that happened, happened on its own." The creator of the franchise disclosed that the budget of the film was not what people thought it was. "Many of you are speculating as to when this film will break even. Let me tell you that this film had broken even, even before its release by the grace of God. We consider every rupee that comes to us from the audience as a gift from the Almighty. This film is already on its way to success," he disclosed. Stating that one of the biggest reasons for the film's success was the film's visuals, Sampath Nandi said the visuals in the film had come in for a lot of praise from audiences. In particular, he said the CG portions had come in for a lot of appreciation and praised the Prasad Labs CG team for delivering exceptional CG work at a low cost. "They have done excellent CG on a very low budget. Thanks to all of them," he said. The film, which released on April 17 this year, had triggered huge expectations as this was the second instalment from the 'Odela' franchise, the first instalment of which was titled 'Odela Railway Station'. Produced by D Madhu under the direction of Ashok Teja, the film has music by Ajaneesh Loknath and cinematography by Soundar Rajan. One reason why the film has caught the attention of fans and film buffs is that Tamannaah, for the first time in her two-decade-old career, plays the role of a Naga Sadhu in this film. Apart from Tamannah, the film also features a host of stars including Hebbah Patel, Dayanand Reddy, Yuva, Murali Sharma, Sharath Lohitashwa, Srikanth Iyengar, Naga Mahesh, Vamshi, Gagan Vihari, Surender Reddy, Bhupal and Pooja Reddy among others.
