‘Marshal': Karthi's next with director Tamizh gets a title; Sai Abhyankkar to compose music
Dream Warrior Pictures, in collaboration with IVY Entertainment, has announced a period action drama titled Marshal, set in 1960's Rameshwaram. The film marks another ambitious venture for actor Karthi and director Tamizh (Taanakkaran fame) following well-known projects like Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru and Kaithi. At Prasad Studios in Vadapalani, Chennai, on July 10, 2025 (Thursday), the producers unveiled the title of the movie with the film's cast and crew present at the event. Marshal features a star-studded cast, including Kalyani Priyadarshan, Sathyaraj, Prabhu, Lal, John Kokken, Easwari Rao, and others. The technical crew boasts talents like music composer Sai Abhyankkar, cinematographer Sathyan Sooryan, editor Philomin Raj, and production designer Arun Venjaramoodu. Marshal is planned as a pan-Indian release in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi. Karthi was last seen in C Prem Kumar's Meiyazhagan. The film also starred Arvind Swamy in the lead role. Karthi also has Nalan Kumarasamy's Va Vaathiyaare and Sardar 2 in his line-up.

'Ghajini' x 'Sikandar': Aamir Khan, Salman Khan's have an intense reunion
Bollywood actor Salman Khan is gearing up for the release of his action-packed film Sikandar, which has been directed by AR Murugadoss. Recently, Salman and Murugadoss met with Aamir Khan and created a fun promotional video. On Tuesday, Salman took to Instagram and shared a teaser of the video. "Amar Prem ka Andaaz with AR Murugadoss! #SikandarMeetsGhajini #AamirKhan (sic)," his caption read. The clip shows Aamir and Salman with intense expressions as they sit down for a conversation with Murugadoss. It takes a dramatic turn when Aamir asks his Ghajini director who, between him and Salman, is the real "Sikandar" [winner]. Sikandar also stars Rashmika Mandanna and Sathyaraj in pivotal roles. Recently, at the film's trailer launch event, the Ghajini director the reason for his casting choice. He recalled meeting with Salman in Chennai. He said, "I was struggling as an AD (Assistant Director) long back. So I wanted to watch a shoot, so I went to Prasad Studios in Chennai. I requested the security guard to let me in and watch me shoot. He allowed me on two conditions. You have to be in corner and you cannot talk to anyone. He gave me 20 minutes. After that, I had to leave." He further explained how he became a fan of Salman after one unexpected encounter with the actor and decided to cast him in a film. "So I entered. I don't know what the shoot was. Full dark smoke, light comes, Sridevi was there. I was surprised. Then suddenly, I saw a hero's back. He was combing his hair. So I tried to see who the hero was. He was none other than Salman Sir. I tried to go one step forward, and I saw the guard looking at me. He said no. So I went outside and thought that one day I would direct a film with him. So after so many years, I have directed the film with him," he said.

AR Murugadoss on why he chose Salman Khan for 'Sikandar'
A.R. Murugadoss expressed his love and admiration for Salman Khan by speaking of an incident that took place in Chennai years ago. Murugadoss, who is known for films Ghajini and Holiday, has collaborated with Khan for the first time for the upcoming film titled Sikandar, out on March 30, 2025. At the trailer launch event, the Ghajini director shared his fan moment. He said, "I was struggling as an AD (Assistant Director) long back. His next directorial, Sikandar, is an action-packed film which stars Khan and Rashmika Mandanna in lead roles.
