Nashik cops arrest 3 Bangladeshis for illegal stay & document forgery
Nashik: Police arrested three Bangladesh nationals, including a couple from Pune, who were residing unlawfully in India. Additionally, the Nashik police arrested a 35-year-old loan executive from Nashik. Following information received on June 8 about a Bangladeshi woman living with a man in Nashik, police commissioner Sandeep Karnik directed DCP (crime) Prashant Bacchav to look into the matter. A team was formed, and through technical analysis, they detained both the woman and the loan executive. During questioning, the woman confessed that she was Bangladeshi and had been staying in India illegally. ACP (crime) Sandeep Mitke said the woman initially entered India unlawfully in 2017, assisted by her uncle, and settled in Ghansoli, Mumbai. She connected with the loan executive through social media, developing a relationship. After returning to Bangladesh, she found out that she was pregnant. She delivered a girl in July 2018. She then re-entered India illegally and began cohabiting with the loan executive. The woman travelled back to Bangladesh and returned to India in 2019 with valid documentation, but overstayed her visa period. Subsequently, she re-entered India illegally and had been residing with him since. They obtained fraudulent documents, including a birth certificate for their daughter, along with Aadhaar card, a voting card, and PAN card. The police discovered she had voted in recent Indian elections. Upon learning about her maternal uncle and aunt's illegal residence in India, authorities arrested them too from the jurisdiction of Shikrapur police station in Pune Rural. Police filed charges under relevant sections of the BNS, the Passport (Entry into India) Rules, 1950, and the Foreigners Act, 1946, leading to the arrest of all four individuals.

Nashik police conduct seminar on emergency preparedness and coordination with NCC, NSS and others
Nashik: Amid ongoing tensions in the country, the city police on Saturday held a seminar on how different departments can work together in coordination to tackle session was conceptualised by Nashik commissioner of police (CP) Sandeep Karnik and held at the commissionerate along Gangapur Road on police commissionerate officers, representatives from different branches of the police and police stations, cadets of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) and National Service Scheme (NSS), as well as officials of disaster management, civil defence, fire brigade, Home Guard, health and other departments were present at the the gathering, DCP (Crime) Prashant Bacchav said, "In such times, people should not believe in rumours spreading on social media. " He also guided attendees on how to handle emergency situations, the possibility of cyberattacks, and preventive measures against these, such as not downloading posts from unidentified sources and (HQ) Chandrakant Khandvi said, "Cadets of the NCC and NSS can be deployed as volunteers during emergencies. These cadets can be provided training through video conferencing. Furthermore, joint mock drills of cadets can be organised with the civil defence, fire brigade, and disaster management teams. Cadets can be given identity cards and certificates and they can be assigned work as required in emergency situations." Questions from NCC and NSS cadets were duly addressed during the seminar. Assistant commissioner of police Sandeep Mitke later proposed a vote of thanks to end the session.
