Mahindra displays four concept SUVs eyeing global markets
Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. on Friday (August 15, 2025) unveiled four new concept SUVs which will be introduced in the market between 2027 and 2030. These vehicles, to be developed on the company's all-new modular, multi-energy NU_IQ platform, will include ICE and electric vehicles. All these vehicles are targeted at the global market, company officials said. The firm is already exporting to South Africa and Australia, and electric vehicles are being exported to the U.K. So the new vehicles, in the first phase, will be introduced in these markets, followed by other countries, the officials said. The concepts called the Vision.S, Vision.T, and Vision.X, will address segments where the company currently does not have an offering. R. Velusamy, president-Automotive Business (Designate), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. and Managing Director, Mahindra Electric Automobile Ltd., said, 'NU_IQ is a strategic blueprint for the future of Mahindra SUVs globally.' 'With its modular, multi-energy architecture, it gives us the flexibility to innovate across multiple top hats and powertrains whilst staying true to our SUV DNA,' he said. 'Designed to resolve paradoxes, NU_IQ forms the foundation for our next generation of SUVs. It marks a bold step and the start of a new era that frees customers from compromises and puts truly desirable, premium core SUVs squarely in the mainstream,' he added. How to own a Batmobile in India? Mahindra launches BE 6 Batman Edition SUV with dark-theme – But with a catch
Mahindra & Mahindra has introduced a limited-edition variant of its BE 6 electric SUV in India, named the BE 6 Batman Edition. The model is priced at ₹ 27.79 lakh (ex-showroom) and will be available in a restricted run of 300 units nationwide. Bookings open on 23 August, with deliveries scheduled from 20 September 2025, coinciding with International Batman Day. The Batman Edition is essentially the same mechanically as the standard BE 6 but features a host of cosmetic upgrades. The SUV sports an exclusive Satin Black exterior finish with custom Batman decals on the front doors and 'BE 6 × The Dark Knight' badging at the rear. It rides on redesigned 20-inch alloy wheels, and certain suspension components have been highlighted in gold. The exterior also carries multiple Bat symbols, including on the hub caps, windows, rear bumper, and the Infinity Roof, while the Night Trail carpet lamps project the logo onto the ground. Inside, the cabin is finished in suede and leather, with gold sepia accent stitching and additional Bat emblems throughout. The dashboard features a brushed gold Batman Edition plaque with individual unit numbering. Gold accents extend to the steering wheel, In-Touch Controller, and the Electronic Parking Brake. The interior also incorporates thematic touches such as embossed Bat logos on the 'Boost' button, seatbacks, and dashboard graphics, as well as a Batman-themed welcome animation on the infotainment system and customised exterior sounds inspired by the Batmobile. Inside, the cabin is finished in suede and leather, with gold sepia accent stitching and additional Bat emblems throughout. Mechanically, the BE 6 Batman Edition is based on the Pack Three variant with the larger 79 kWh battery pack, providing a claimed range of up to 682 km per charge. The 79 kWh model produces 285 bhp, while the smaller 59 kWh variant delivers 230 bhp; torque remains at 380 Nm for both. The SUV supports DC fast charging up to 175 kW, enabling the battery to charge from 20 per cent to 80 per cent in approximately 20 minutes. New Delhi [India], August 15 (ANI): Mahindra & Mahindra Limited, on the occasion of Independence Day, revealed its global vision for 2027, unveiling four futuristic SUV concepts based on an all-new modular, multi-energy platform called NU_IQ. The company said the platform will underpin its next generation of SUVs, blending advanced technology, global design, and flexible powertrain options. The concepts were engineered at Mahindra Research Valley and will go into production starting 2027, targeting both Indian buyers and global left-hand-drive markets. As per a press release, the four concepts — Vision.S, Vision.T, and Vision.X, were presented as part of Mahindra's strategy to create vehicles that eliminate compromises for customers. Mahindra and Mahindra, one of India's leading SUV manufacturer, has revealed its future SUV strategy with the global unveiling of the NU_IQ platform and four striking new concept vehicles: Vision.S, Vision.T, and Vision.X, at the Freedom NU event in Mumbai.
