Enhanced Comfort for Passengers: Additional AC Chair Cars Added to Ganga Gomti and Prayagraj-Lucknow Trains, ET Infra
Advt In a welcome move for regular commuters and tourists, the number of AC chair car coaches on two key trains operating between Prayagraj and Lucknow-the Ganga-Gomti Express and the Prayagraj-Lucknow Intercity Express-is set to increase. Both these trains currently run with one AC chair car coach each, but in response to growing passenger demand, a second AC coach will now be proposal for additional coaches was sent by the Lucknow division of Northern Railway and recently received approval from the Railway Board. Confirming the development, Kuldeep Tiwari, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager (DCM), Northern Railway, Lucknow Division, stated, "To meet the increasing demand and enhance passenger comfort, one additional AC chair car coach will be attached to both the Ganga-Gomti Express (train no. 14215/16) and the Prayagraj-Lucknow Intercity Express (train no. 14209/10). This upgrade aims to improve regional connectivity, especially for daily commuters."The Ganga-Gomti Express (14215) departs Prayagraj Sangam at 5:40 am and arrives in Lucknow at 10:00 am. On the return journey, train 14216 leaves Lucknow at 5:50 pm, reaching Prayagraj at 10:15 Prayagraj-Lucknow Intercity Express (14209) departs Prayagraj Sangam at 3:30 pm and arrives in Lucknow at 7:50 pm, while the return train 14210 departs Lucknow at 7:30 am, reaching Prayagraj by 12:00 noon. Both trains cover a distance of 197 kilometres, halting at 14 stations along the way. This enhancement is expected to offer greater comfort during hot and humid weather, reduce waiting list pressure, and benefit not only daily passengers but also pilgrims and tourists visiting Prayagraj.
