The centres were established through the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) fund of L&T's Prayas Charitable Trust. The buildings were constructed at Threspuram's Mettupatti and Ambedkar Nagar areas under the Thoothukudi Municipal Corporation. Collector K. Elambahavath, Corporation Commissioner L. Madhubalan, Revenue Divisional Officer M. Prabhu amongst others were present at the event.
