Where On3 and 247Sports predict elite Louisiana recruit Lamar Brown will commit

Top 2026 target Lamar Brown is under two weeks away from a scheduled announcement regarding his future plans. LSU football is one of four finalists for Louisiana's No. 1 prospect alongside Texas A&M, Florida State and Miami. Brown is listed as an athlete due to his talent on both sides of the ball, but he expressed the desire to play defensive line in college. On3 and 247 Sports are split on their predictions for where Brown will end up. On3's Prediction Machine gives the Tigers an 86.5% chance of securing Brown, while 247 Sports gives the Aggies an edge. Letting the six-foot-four, 285-pounder leave the state would be a blow to LSU's recruiting efforts to close out the 2026 cycle. Head coach Brian Kelly's staff built the current group on keeping recruits in LSU's backyard at home while hitting on top prospects around the region. Should Brown choose his home state school, he would be the third five-star prospect alongside wide receiver Tristen Keys and defensive lineman Richard Anderson. LSU's 2026 class ranks sixth nationally and third in the SEC, according to On3's Industry Rankings.
