Four-star linebacker from Alabama announces visit to LSU

Four-star linebacker from Alabama announces visit to LSU A 2026 linebacker recruit took to social media to announce a visit to LSU. JJ Bush will visit LSU on June 13, the third of four Summer visits on the slate. Bush will also make trips to Missouri, Cincinnati, and Arkansas over the summer. The three-star prospect ranks No. 16 in Alabama and No. 36 at his position, according to On3's Industry Rankings. 247Sports is the highest on Bush, slotting the LB as a four-star and No. 14 nationally at his position. The Theodore, AL native is also considering offers from other Power Four schools. On3's Prediction Machine gives Miami the best chance to land his commitment, followed by Tulane. LSU's 2026 class ranks No. 2 in the country, but the Tigers have a need at linebacker. Bush would be the first linebacker commitment and second Alabama native alongside four-star safety Dylan Purter, who hails from Tuskegee. Bush made positive comments about his relationship with the Tigers' staff following his first trip to campus in April.

Where LSU football stands with the top uncommitted recruits in Louisiana

Where LSU football stands with the top uncommitted recruits in Louisiana LSU football's 2026 recruiting class ranks second in the country heading into summer camp thanks to a blend of highly ranked players from around the region and in the state. There's still plenty of talent on the board in Louisiana as LSU looks to keep building the class. A commitment from any or all would bolster arguably the best recruiting class of the Brian Kelly era. The Tigers' head coach and staff prioritized keeping the best in-state talents home, which shows in their 2026 haul. Six of their nine commitments are Louisiana natives, headlined by five-star and No. 1 defensive lineman Richard Anderson. Louisiana's top player in Lamar Brown is likely to commit to LSU, according to On3's prediction machine but who else are the Tigers heavily targeting? And can they flip the state's No. 3 prospect despite a verbal commitment to the national champions? Here are five uncommitted 2026 players from Louisiana that LSU fans should keep their eyes on. Five-star athlete Lamar Brown Ranked the No. 1 prospect out of the state No. 10 nationally, Brown is projected to pick the Tigers by On3 and 247Sports. The five-star prospect, who could play either defensive or offensive line, makes his announcement July 10. LSU has made Brown a priority throughout his process as it doesn't want a standout from its own backyard. He would be the third five-star prospect in the 2026 class alongside Anderson and wide receiver Tristen Keys. Four-star defensive lineman Dylan Berymon LSU missed the cut for Berymon's top-six and appears to be out of the race. Purdue looks to be the favorite for the top-20 defensive lineman, who hails from Monroe. The state's No. 8 prospect, Berymon once considered LSU to be a top contender, but the defensive tackle is heading out of state. Bo Davis vacating the defensive line coach position may have contributed. Three-star defensive lineman Darryus McKinley McKinley, a three-star defensive lineman from Lafayette, seems to be headed to Baton Rouge. On3's Prediction Machine gives him a 98.8% chance of teaming with his brother, Dominick, who enters his second season with the Tigers. Just like Brown, LSU likely won the race for McKinley. His familiarity with the school, combined with his high upside, would make him a great addition to the class. The state's No. 14 prospect plans to announce his commitment on Nov. 8. Three-star athlete Dezyrian Ellis LSU extended an offer to Ellis in February, and the Tigers are favored to land the rising athlete. On3 gives the Tigers a 99.7% chance to land a commitment from the state's No. 16 prospect. He took his only recorded trip to Baton Rouge, an unofficial visit in February. Listed as the class' No. 31 athlete, Ellis likely slots in at cornerback. He would join four-star corner Havon Finney as well as four-star safeties Dylan Purter and Aiden Hall. Can LSU flip five-star Blaine Bradford? Safety Blaine Bradford committed to Ohio State in March, but LSU won't give up on the five-star defender. Bradford's pledge to Ohio State seems firm, though. LSU doesn't like watching five-stars leave the state, especially with the Tigers' history of landing five-star defensive backs in Louisiana. Don't expect a flip now, but keep an eye on Bradford as signing day approaches in the winter.

On3 drops major recruiting prediction as LSU looks to add five-star recruit

On3 drops major recruiting prediction as LSU looks to add five-star recruit On3's Steve Wiltfong made a prediction Monday for LSU football to land a commitment from 2026 offensive lineman Darius Gray. He takes an official visit to Baton Rouge on June 14 and it appears the relationship is trending in the right direction. The five-star prospect has seven official visits remaining on his schedule during May and June, including to Tennessee, Auburn, South Carolina and reigning national champions Ohio State. The Tigers and Gamecocks lead the pack as the favorites, according to On3's Prediction Machine. Gray, the top interior offensive lineman in the 2026 cycle, would add to the SEC's top recruiting class, according to On3's Industry Rankings. He would be the third offensive line commitment, joining Jalen Chapman and Brysten Martinez. Head coach Brian Kelly's staff continues to develop NFL-ready talent in the trenches, the latest being top-five NFL Draft pick Will Campbell. Gray would add to the legacy and further bolster what could be the best class of Kelly's tenure at LSU.

LSU football tabbed the favorite to land elite five-star recruit

LSU football tabbed the favorite to land elite five-star recruit Multiple recruiting outlets project LSU football to land one of the top recruits in the 2026 cycle. Five-star prospect Lamar Brown will likely stay in his home state, according to On3's Prediction Machine and 247Sports' Crystal Ball. Brown, who will make his decision public on July 10, ranks as the top player out of Louisiana per On3's Industry Rankings. Brown is listed as the top athlete in the class. Brown is a standout on the offensive and defensive lines in high school, but its not clear which side he will play at the next level. Zach Blostein of 247Sports logged a prediction in February for LSU to land Brown. On3's Prediction Machine gives the Tigers a 97% chance to keep him in his home state. Rivals listed LSU and Texas A&M as the front-runners. Should Brown chooses LSU, he would be the third five-star commitment in LSU's 2026 class, joining Tristen Keys and fellow Louisiana native Richard Anderson. He scheduled an official visit to Baton Rouge on June 20. Brown is the top-ranked recruit in the state of Louisiana, making him LSU's top priority. Linemen of Brown's caliber are rare, and LSU doesn't want to lose one from its own backyard.

Oklahoma Sooners predicted to land 2026 four-star defensive end

The Oklahoma Sooners hosted a number of prospects from the 2026 recruiting class over the weekend for Junior Day and are already reaping the rewards of their efforts. One of the prospects Oklahoma welcomed to Norman was four-star defensive end Kevin Ford Jr. On Monday, Sam Spiegelman of Rivals issued a FutureCast favoring the Sooners in his recruitment. Ford is considered the No. 11 defensive end in the cycle, according to 247Sports, and is a top 125 player in the class. Out of Duncanville High School, Ford is a disruptive defensive end prospect. He's got a quick get-off at the snap that he uses to knife through the line of scrimmage or get around offensive tackles. Ford shows good play strength, displaying the ability to knock back offensive linemen with his initial strike. He sets the edge well in the run game and shows good discipline in his responsibilities. His speed and athleticism make him a natural pass rusher, but he has the strength to be a force against the run. Ford has a strong motor and is willing to chase down plays from the backside or after the quarterback steps up to avoid his initial rush. He would be a great addition to the Oklahoma Sooners defensive front. In addition to his Oklahoma offer, he's being pursued by a number of Power Four programs, including Alabama, Texas, Texas A&M, Miami, Florida, Florida State, Tennessee, and Ole Miss. Kevin Ford Jr's Recruiting Profile Projections Sam Spiegelman of Rivals issued a FutureCast favoring the Oklahoma Sooners on January 27, 2025. On3's Recruiting Prediction Machine believes Texas A&M to be the leader as of January 27, 2025.
