When is 'Freakier Friday' coming to streaming? Here's our best guess
Over two decades after "Freaky Friday" hit our screens, Disney has reunited us with Tess (Jamie Lee Curtis) and Anna (Lindsay Lohan) for a "Freakier Friday" that sees them tangled up in another body-swapping comedy, this time with a multigenerational twist.
So far, the sequel has been well-received, especially by fans of the 2003 original. At the time of writing, it's earned a 72% critics' score on review aggregate site Rotten Tomatoes, and has earned an even higher 93% rating from moviegoers.
I can see why, too: Nisha Ganatra's sequel is a frothy, breezy comedy follow-up that's totally in the spirit of the original. It's nostalgic, goofy, funny stuff.
If you're skipping the theater (or you're planning a rewatch), you might be wondering when "Freakier Friday" is coming to streaming. While we don't currently have a release date, here's my best guess at when you might be able to watch it at home on Disney Plus.
At the time of writing, the only way to watch "Freakier Friday" is by heading to your nearest movie theater.
Plus, before the new comedy comes to streaming platforms, it'll first be available to rent or purchase on Premium Video-on-Demand (PVOD) storefronts. Typically, Disney releases their new movies on digital storefronts a couple of months after they hit the big screen, so I'd expect "Freakier Friday" to hit PVOD at some point in early October.
At the very least, as a Disney movie, we can all but guarantee that when "Freakier Friday" comes to subscription-based streaming, it'll be available on Disney Plus, alongside the original 2003 comedy.

And if we look at how long we've typically waited for Disney movies to hit the platform, we can estimate when the movie might come to the streaming service.
Right now, I'm guessing that "Freakier Friday" will come to Disney Plus on or around Wednesday, November 12, 2025.
That's based on the fact that we typically wait around 90-110 for Disney movies to come to the platform.
For example, we waited 97 days for "Mufasa: The Lion King", 104 days for "Captain America: Brave New World," and when the live-action "Lilo & Stitch" movie arrives on September 3, we'll have waited 104 days for its streaming release. The live-action "Snow White" got a faster turnaround, coming to Disney Plus just 83 days after it hit theaters.
Seeing as Disney typically releases its movies on Wednesdays, I went with the Wednesday that was 96 days from "Freakier Friday's" theatrical release, though the following Wednesday (November 19) also seems like a potential "Freakier Friday" streaming date.
Of course, this is just my best guess. At the time of writing, Disney has not yet confirmed the "Freakier Friday" streaming release date. As soon as we hear anything official, I'll be sure to update this article with any news.
