Multi award winning boy band McFly set to draw crowds at summer sessions
Multi award winning global boy band McFly are bringing their energy and excitement to Southampton this summer. The band, consisting of vocalists and guitarists, Tom Fletcher and Danny Jones, Bass guitarist, Dougie Poynter and drummer Harry Judd, will perform at TK Maxx Presents Southampton Summer Sessions on Sunday, June 22. They will be part of a huge selection of artists performing in Southampton this summer, alongside Rag'n'Bone Man, UB40 and Craig David. McFly will be supported by Twin Atlantic and Devon. The band celebrated 21 years together in 2024 and later in 2025 they are going on a UK tour with 'rival band' Busted. They have produced seven studio albums and achieved seven UK number 1 hits with songs like All About You, 5 Colours In Her Hair and Star Girl. Britpop legends join the line-up for Southampton Summer Sessions 2025
Britpop legends Ocean Colour Scene will join the line-up for TK Maxx Presents Southampton Summer Sessions this year. Taking to the stage in Guildhall Square on Friday June 27, Ocean Colour Scene will be supported by fellow '90s icons Cast and Echobelly. They join a stellar roster of previously announced artists including McFly, Train, The Human League, Simple Minds, and Rag'n'Bone Man. Their album Moseley Shoals went triple platinum in the UK, featuring iconic tracks like The Riverboat Song, You've Got It Bad, and The Day We Caught the Train. Success continued with 1997's album Marchin' Already, which produced hits such as Hundred Mile High City and Travellers Tune. In total, OCS have seventeen Top 40 singles and six Top Ten singles. In the years since their Britpop heyday, the band have continued to draw inspiration from soul, folk, and blues greats, keeping their classic rock flame lit by consistently recording and touring. Echobelly, led by the charismatic Sonya Madan, will bring a fusion of punk, glam, and new wave. With influential albums like Everyone's Got One and On, Echobelly's impact on '90s British indie music is undeniable. The trio of bands invite fans to immerse themselves in the true essence of Britpop with an event that will transport them back to the golden days of the '90s. The 2025 dates follow the inaugural Southampton Summer Sessions last year. Throughout June and July 2024, it attracted more than 26,000 visitors to the city over the various events. Artists included Tom Jones, Madness, Loyle Carner, Nile Rodgers and CHIC, Kaiser Chiefs and more.
