Op Sindoor a testament to our unparalleled prowess: IAF chief
Hyderabad: IAF chief, Air Chief Marshal A P Singh, on Saturday said that Operation Sindoor, launched after the Pahalgam terror attack, stands as a shining testament to the unparalleled prowess of the Indian Air Force. This operation demonstrated IAF's capability to deliver swift, precise and decisive blows to the enemy. Addressing the Combined Graduation Parade (CGP) at the Air Force Academy, Dundigal near here, Singh also said the Operation Sindoor showcased exceptional coordination, synergy and integration within the armed forces. He called upon the newly commissioned officers to keep furthering the spirit of unity as they grow in service. He said the graduating officers, as the future of the IAF, must understand that the Air Force has been and will always remain the first responder. 'It is our collective responsibility to live up to the trust placed in the Indian Air Force by every citizen of India, and we must be ready and prepared for this,' Singh said. Observing that the battlefield is going to be more and more complex, he said the young officers would need to continuously 'train and retrain' to succeed in future conflicts. With the Indian Air Force fast evolving into an aerospace force, many young officers will lead the nation's foray into space, he said. These challenges will require them to be totally committed, focused, innovative, and passionate about their job, he said. Singh also exhorted the graduating officers to focus on physical and mental fitness and personality development through a healthy lifestyle. The event commemorated the successful completion of the pre-commissioning training of flight cadets across various branches of the Indian Air Force. During the ceremony, the IAF chief conferred the 'President's Commission' to the graduating trainees. The ceremony included presentation of 'Wings' upon successful completion of training to the flight cadets of the IAF, officers of the Indian Navy, Indian Coast Guard and an officer from Vietnam.

Army chief for IAF graduation parade on June 14
Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Upendra Dwivedi would be the reviewing officer for the Combined Graduation Parade (CGP) of the 215th course at Air Force Academy (AFA), Dundigal, on June 14. The event will commemorate the successful completion of the pre-commissioning training of flight cadets across various branches of the Indian Air Force (IAF). During the ceremony, the RO will confer the 'President's Commission' to the graduating trainees. The ceremony includes presentation of 'wings' upon successful completion of training to the flight cadets of the IAF, officers of the Indian Navy, Indian Coast Guard and one officer from a friendly foreign country. The flight cadet from Flying Branch who stands first in the order of merit will be awarded the coveted 'President's Plaque' as well as the 'Chief of the Air Staff Sword of Honour' - and will be commanding the parade. The 'President's Plaque' will be awarded by the RO to the flight cadet standing first in the overall order of merit in the ground duty branches. The event will include a display by the Akash Ganga team and Air Warrior Drill Team (AWDT) to mark the beginning of the CGP, and interspersed fly-pasts by the Pilatus PC-7 Mk-II, Hawk, Kiran and Chetak aircraft. The aerial displays by PC-7 Mk-II, SU-30 MK-I, and Surya Kiran Aerobatic Team (SKAT) will also form major attractions of this ceremony, a press release said.

First-ever batch of 17 women cadets passes out from NDA
NEW DELHI: The first batch of 17 women cadets at the National Defence Academy (NDA) passed out on Friday as part of the 336 cadets who graduated from the Academy, marking the culmination of the 148th Course – Spring Term 2025. The June 2022 batch of cadets included 19 women, 10 cadets in the Army, six in the Air Force and three in the Navy. The NDA cadets who passed out will now proceed to academies of their respective services, including the Indian Military Academy (Army), Air Force Academy (IAF) and the Naval Academy (Navy). Upon completing one year of service-specific training, the cadets will be granted the President's Commission. A total of 1,341 cadets, including the 336 from the passing out course, participated in the Passing Out Parade (POP) at the iconic Khetarpal Parade Ground in Khadakwasla, Maharashtra, on 30 May 2025. Gracing the occasion as the Reviewing Officer was the Governor of Mizoram, General (Dr) VK Singh (Retd). The parade marked the successful completion of rigorous military and academic training by the cadets, culminating in a splendid display of precision, discipline and military bearing. It was impeccably conducted by Adjutant Lt Col Praveen Kumar Tiwari, astride his charger 'Reliant Robin'. Academy Cadet Captain Udayveer Singh Negi of 'G' Squadron commanded the parade with exceptional composure and military precision.
