iOS 26 to bring Apple Games, Preview app to iPhone's Home Screen: Features

Apple's iOS 26 update is set to introduce two major new apps to the iPhone Home Screen: Apple Games, a dedicated hub for gaming, and Preview, a utility for managing PDFs and images. These additions are designed to enhance how users engage with content and documents across iPhone, iPad, and Mac devices. Alongside these apps, iOS 26 will also feature a new Liquid Glass design, which brings a refreshed look to the interface with translucent, fluid elements — marking one of the most significant visual redesigns in recent iOS history. Apple Games app: New Gaming hub Gaming on iPhone is set to become more unified with the launch of the Apple Games app in iOS 26. As per reports, this app will serve as a centralised platform for all games, positioned alongside Apple's other content services like Music, TV, and Books. The app's main interface is built around a Home view, designed to help users quickly access their games, discover new titles, and keep up with in-game events. 'The Home tab keeps you connected to the games you love, recommends new games, and makes jumping back into all your favourites easy. Browse cannot-miss events from your games, and get personalised suggestions for what to play next.' In addition to the Home tab, the app will feature three more sections: Arcade: A space that replicates the Apple Arcade experience found in the App Store. Play Together: A social hub for multiplayer gaming, friend challenges, and Game Centre integration. Library: A comprehensive view of installed games, achievements, and play history. Preview App: macOS utility comes to iPhone iOS 26 will also mark the arrival of the Preview app on iPhone and iPad. Previously a staple on macOS, Preview is a lightweight yet powerful tool for handling PDFs and images. The app provides a dedicated interface for managing documents, and is designed to integrate seamlessly with iCloud, local storage, and the Files app. Key capabilities include: Opening PDFs and images from various sources. Editing tools such as crop, rotate, resize, and markup. Autofill support for PDF forms. Built-in document scanner.

Apple's iOS 26 update will add a much loved MacBook feature to your iPhone: Know all about it

Apple's big plans with iOS 26 haven't exactly been off to a smooth start, with the company facing widespread mockery on social media due to the new Liquid Glass redesign, while the long-promised AI features in iOS still remain undelivered. However, beyond the gloomy news, Apple is bringing some new apps to the upcoming operating system, one of which will introduce a long-awaited MacBook feature to iPhones this September. iPhones and iPads running iOS 26 will be greeted with a new Preview app, using the same name as Apple's popular PDF and image viewer on MacBooks. The new Preview app will offer an option to view PDFs and images saved on iCloud, on the device, or from other file sources. The app will allow users to browse PDFs, making it easier to keep documents organised and accessible in one place. Users will also be able to edit PDFs and images directly within the app, with options to resize, rotate, and adjust files as needed. It includes a built-in document scanner for quickly digitising paperwork, along with a PDF AutoFill feature to fill out forms. Users can also create new images within the app, either starting from scratch or using content copied to the clipboard. On MacBooks, opening a PDF or image from Finder automatically launches it in the Preview app. With iOS 26, your iPhone and iPad will work similarly: opening a PDF or image from the Files app will now launch it directly inside the new Preview app by default. The interface won't look exactly like the Mac version. Instead, Preview on iOS 26 uses the new document browser design that Apple introduced with iOS 18, which is already used in apps like Pages and Keynote. This means it will feel consistent with other Apple apps while still bringing Mac-like Preview functionality to your iPhone. iPhone SE (2nd generation and later)

Marian Rivera, Tim Yap, Solenn Heussaff among Preview 30 Icons

Marian Rivera, Tim Yap, and Solenn Heussaff are among the Preview 30 Icons — creatives and personalities who have helped "build the brand and shape Filipino fashion" and whom the fashion magazine is honoring for its 30th anniversary. In the cover story, Preview described Solenn as "a woman who's embodied a je ne sais quoi that requires little to no effort to bring out." "Solenn's life has been documented through high-glamor editorials and compelling stories told through fashion," it added, recalling how the Kapuso actress, who plays Cassiopeia in "Encantadia Chronicles: Sang'gre," first appeared on Preview's pages as an actress and model." Meanwhile, Tim Yap, who signed with Sparkle in March 2025 has been something of a main stay with Preview, partnering with the title "on his first fashion show" when he launched Kenzo in the Philippines with Preview as his media partner, appearing on "Preview's front page, sharing his first cover with fellow model and socialite Rissa Mananquil for the December 2001 issue," and serving as its society editor at one point. "Tim has maintained his position as an industry magnate, noting how the community has expanded for the better," Preview said. Finally, Marian Rivera recalled her November 2012 cover when Preview dressed her in crisp tailoring and slicked-back hair, transforming her into "someone no one had seen before." "Minsan out of the box 'yung gusto nilang ipagawa sa 'yo pero as an artist, gusto mo rin mag-try. Nakaka-excite kasi may naiisip sila na hindi mo aakalain na magagawa mo," Marian said. In 2023, she was bestowed the first-ever Style Icon title. The three Kapuso personalities join the likes of stylist Liz Uy, model and businesswoman Georgina Wilson, content creator Mimiyuuuh, and Summit head honcho Lisa Gokongwei-Cheng, to name a few. — LA, GMA Integrated News
