NDP 2025: Large crowds, traffic delays, road closures expected in Marina Bay area on August 2

SINGAPORE - Those planning to head to the Marina Bay area on Aug 2 should check online how crowded it is there, and motorists should expect traffic delays due to road and lane closures. This is in view of the National Day Parade (NDP) Preview 2 at the Padang, with associated events in the Marina Bay area on that day, said the police on July 31. The public can check real-time crowd levels, and areas that are closed due to crowd build-ups, at on computers and mobile devices from 5pm to 10.30pm on Aug 2. They can also use the OneMap mobile app from 7pm to 10.30pm on the same day for recommended walking routes, the police added. Also, the real-time crowd map - or the Crowd@MarinaBay map - will be displayed on television screens at selected MRT stations. In addition, some MRT station exits around the Marina Bay area will be closed to regulate crowd flow, and trains may bypass stations, such as Bayfront, if there is overcrowding there. The public should use MRT stations such as Promenade, Downtown and Marina Bay to get to the area, with the likes of Bayfront, City Hall, Esplanade and Raffles Place stations expected to be crowded, the police said. Road and lane closures Selected roads and lanes in the Marina Bay area will be closed on Aug 2, such as parts of Bras Basah Road and Raffles Boulevard. Only the likes of police and emergency vehicles will be given access during the closure. Marshals and uniformed officers will be at the affected junctions to direct motorists, and vehicles parked illegally or obstructing these roads will be towed, the police said. Also, traffic delays are expected along Battery Road, Beach Road, Bras Basah Road, Collyer Quay, Guillemard Road, Hill Street, Marina Boulevard, Mountbatten Road, North Bridge Road, Ophir Road, Raffles Avenue, Raffles Boulevard, Raffles Link, Republic Boulevard, Rochor Road, Temasek Avenue, Temasek Boulevard and Victoria Street. Those who are going to these areas are 'strongly encouraged' to use public transport, the police said. NDP Preview 2 attendees Those attending the National Day Parade Preview 2 at the Padang should arrive early, and to enter the parade through the assigned entrance indicated on their tickets. They should minimise the things to be brought into the venue to facilitate security checks, the police said. Containers with a capacity of 100ml or bigger and filled with liquid, aerosol or gel will be subjected to additional checks, while canned items - such as canned drinks - are not allowed into the venue. NDP 2025: 25 bus services to be diverted, skip some stops on Aug 2 due to preview show

SINGAPORE – Twenty-five bus services plying routes around the city will be affected by road closures for the National Day Parade (NDP) Preview 2 on Aug 2. The affected services will be diverted in phases to travel on alternative routes and skip some stops along Nicoll Highway, Marina Bay and the Civic District , said transport operator SBS Transit in a statement on July 31. The list of affected bus routes are: 10, 14, 16/16M, 32, 51, 56, 57, 63, 70/70M, 80, 100, 107/107M, 111, 124, 130, 131, 133, 145, 166, 174, 195, 196, 197, 851 & 851e. Affected bus stops include those at some exits of Bayfront, Downtown, Marina Bay, Nicoll Highway, City Hall, Promenade and Raffles Place MRT stations. Stops at other prominent destinations, including Suntec Convention Centre, Capitol Building, The Esplanade, The Float @ Marina Bay, Fullerton Square and Shaw Towers, will also be affected. Some bus stops will be skipped from 8am to 11.59pm , while others may be bypassed intermittently throughout the day or for its entirety. Bus service 195 will skip the stop at Supreme Court from midnight Aug 2 to 7am on Aug 3.
