Meth and cocaine seized in Martensville in drug trafficking investigation
Two people face drug and weapons charges after Saskatchewan RCMP seized methamphetamine and cocaine as part of a recent trafficking investigation.
On Aug. 7, officers with the Prince Albert crime reduction team found two people in a parked vehicle in a Martensville parking lot with drugs destined for the Spiritwood area.
Officers searched the vehicle and seized drugs and weapons, including about 891 grams of cocaine, 629 grams of methamphetamine, 55 grams of crack cocaine, almost $8,000 in cash, a conducted energy weapon, an expandable baton, and other evidence of drug trafficking.
A 45-year-old woman from Saskatoon and 55-year-old man from Pelican Lake First Nation each face five charges, including possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of weapon for dangerous purpose, possession of the proceeds of crime over $5,000, and possession of a prohibited weapon when knowing possession unauthorized.
The pair made their first court appearance in Saskatoon Provincial Court on Aug. 11.
