PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. () — A teenager is facing a charge of involuntary manslaughter after a deadly collision that happened in Woodbridge last month, police announced Wednesday. The Prince William County Police Department (PWCPD) said 18-year-old Wania Mussarat Shaikh was driving more than double the speed limit during the May 27 collision. The crash happened at around 11 a.m. in the intersection of Minnieville Road and Summit School Road — which was also an active work zone at the time. PREVIOUS COVERAGE: Woman dies in two-vehicle collision in Woodbridge, police say Shaikh reportedly drove her 2021 Toyota Highlander into the intersection against a red light before she struck a 2020 Honda, police said. The Honda's driver, 45-year-old Seema Rizvi, was taken to a nearby hospital, where she died. Body found as officials search for student who went missing after Virginia car crash Authorities in Virginia recovered a body as they searched for a 19-year-old college student, who disappeared following a car crash on June 7. The Prince William County Police Department said the missing person, identified as Kyle Benjamin Coleman, was last seen at around 12:15 a.m. on Saturday, June 7. Coleman's car was found unoccupied after the crash in Fairfax County, according to police, and local authorities found his cellphone and shoes inside the vehicle, the Prince William Times and WJLA reported. In an update on June 10, Fairfax County police said a body was recovered from a small body of water in Tysons, a city roughly 13 miles outside of Washington, D.C. Prince William County Police Lieutenant Jonathan Perok told USA TODAY that authorities found the body while conducting a search near the site where Coleman crashed. Fairfax County police are leading the death investigation. Officials have not released the identity of the individual who was found deceased. USA TODAY reached out to the local medical examiner's office for more information. News: Two sisters, ages 11 and 14, reported missing after leaving Houston-area home Coleman is described as a 5-foot, 11-inch Black male, with brown eyes and black hair. Police said on June 8 he was "believed to be missing under voluntary circumstances and may be in need of assistance." Coleman was dressed in black running pants and a Morehouse College windbreaker. He was reportedly home for the summer after finishing his freshman year at the Atlanta-based HBCU. According to the reports, loved ones gathered for a vigil on June 10. It was held at Battlefield High School, where he graduated in 2024, and hundreds of people attended. DUMFRIES, Va. - A tractor-trailer struck several police vehicles during a traffic stop on Interstate 95 early Monday, injuring three officers and shutting down part of the highway for much of the morning. The collision occurred around midnight near VA-234/Dumfries Road, authorities said. Officers had conducted a traffic stop near the Dumfries exit when their vehicles were hit by the semi-truck. All southbound traffic was detoured onto VA-234, with drivers advised to use US-15B to Fuller or Russell Road to rejoin I-95. Officials confirmed that the three injured officers are expected to recover. Drivers should anticipate delays throughout the morning as investigators work to determine the cause of the crash. () — Part of Interstate 95 was closed early Monday and multiple injuries were reported after a semi-truck hit officers during a traffic stop, according to Prince William County police. Mother of missing Navy sailor in Norfolk speaks out as investigation continues In a post on X just before 2:30 a.m., the Prince William County Police Department (PWCPD) said officers were investigating a crash on I-95 south, with multiple people injured. As a result, the interstate was closed between Dumfries and Joplin Road. PWCPD told DC News Now that at least six vehicles were involved in the crash, and responders took three officers to the hospital treatment. The three were reportedly conducting a traffic stop near the Dumfries exit when the semi truck hit their cruisers. All three officers are expected to be OK, police noted. Check for updates. PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. () — A 20-year-old woman died in the hospital days after she fell off the top of a car in Prince William County last week, police said. Minutes after 9 p.m. on May 31, officers with the Prince William County Police Department were called to the 11100 block of Kettle Run Road in Nokesville to investigate a crash. Cleanup underway after 2,000 gallons of diesel fuel leaks in Baltimore's East Harbor There, police learned that a man was driving a 1992 Mazda Miata down a private gravel driveway with a woman sitting on the back. At one point, the man began driving faster down the driveway, causing the woman to fall and hit her head on the ground, according to police. First responders took the woman to the hospital for treatment. She remained hospitalized for several days; however, investigators learned that she died from her injuries on June 4.
