New food and drink market in Tallaght to open seven days a week
Priory Market is aiming to 'bring life back to community' as a new social and cultural hub offering the 'finest of artisan and locally produced food and drink'.
It offers 16 different food and drink areas across a wide range of styles. There'll be on-site brewing from the local award-winning craft brewery, Priory Brewing, and the new coffee roastery, Priory Coffee Roasters.
It also contains The Apex, a new theatre for Tallaght, and other event spaces presenting gigs, seminars and a wide range of activities.
Priory market, located on the Main Road in Tallaght, will be open seven days a week from 11am to 11pm.
'Priory Market aims to encourage greater social and commercial life back to Tallaght village and contribute to a sense of pride of place and a thriving atmosphere, as well as a tourist attraction for the county town,' a spokesperson said.
'It provides an immediate 130 local jobs and will act as a catalyst for other start-ups and artisans. It provides an ideal venue for hosting small conferences and seminars with all required hospitality on site.
'It will be a focal point and performance space for local performers and artists and will, in effect, become the cultural 'Left Bank' of Tallaght.
'Priory Market is also unique in that it is a social enterprise with all profits reinvested back into the community to ensure impact, sustainability and further enterprise and job creation.'
There is no official opening date as of yet, but the market is believed to be opening its doors very soon.
