Friendship Day, Bengaluru style: Where puppy yoga met some old-school bonds
Friendship Day in Bengaluru wasn't just about staged selfies and catching up over brews. This time, it was puppy yoga meets DIY nostalgia. In association with Bangalore Times, Dialogues Cafe in Koramangala hosted a fun-filled Sunday where friends struck playful yoga poses and created funky new DIY friendship bands from that day's Friendship Day special edition of the newspaper.

Among the crowd were Priyanka Chatterjee and Prajwala Jalan — besties for 27 years, from kindergarten in Assam to living minutes apart in Bengaluru. 'Even if we haven't spoken for months, she'll show up — no drama, no judgment,' said Priyanka. 'Bad day? I land up, we binge on junk, and I leave lighter,' added Prajwala.
Growing up and becoming adults together, my best friend and I navigated life's experiences and phases. But our bond remained unchanged. That's friendship to me

Even filmmaker Indrajit Lankesh joined the puppy yoga and paper band fun, making some young friends along the way. But it wasn't just childhood pals reuniting — office besties showed up too.. 'They know your mood before you speak,' said HR professional Hema Negi. For Gitika, Suman, Irene, and Mina, workplace friendship is a survival skill. 'Different roles, same bond. No awkwardness, just respect,' they said in sync.
By sundown, the day felt like a pause from the chaos — a reminder that the best bonds take time, but deserve every moment of celebration.
Before social media, friendship was simple - handwritten notes, DIY gifts, creating together. This wasn't just nostalgia, it was a return to something honest
