25-year-old competitive exam aspirant dies by suicide
Indore: A 25-year-old preparing for a competitive examination died by
suicide
at her home in the Lasudia area on Sunday.
Police said
Priyanshi Sugandhi
was staying as a paying guest at an apartment in Scheme Number 78.
The incident came to light late at night and police were informed. A police team arrived at the scene and sent the body to MY Hospital for a postmortem while initiating an investigation.
Lasudia police station in charge Taresh Soni said a three-page suicide note written in English was recovered from the room. In the note, Priyanshi held herself responsible for her death, stating that she was battling loneliness and depression.
She expressed that she was unable to live up to the expectations she set for herself, which led to feelings of failure and exhaustion. The note also included apologies to her father, fiancé, and friends.
Police reported that Priyanshi was engaged and working with a private company while simultaneously preparing for the
UPSC exams
. It was revealed that Priyanshi lost her mother some time ago. Her father, Gajendra Sugandhi, resides in Rajpur of Barwani district. So far, the police have not been able to record statement of Priyanshi's family members.
Based on preliminary investigation and contents of the suicide note, the case appears to be linked to depression. Further inquiry will be conducted following the family's statements and the postmortem report, said Soni.
