Angel Reese Catches Attention After Major Move With NBA Legend

Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese has been making waves since the conclusion of her phenomenal rookie season in the WNBA. Not only did she average a 13.6-point, 13.1-rebound double-double during her first professional season, but she also established herself as an icon in the sport and a household name in popular media. Reese started her own podcast this offseason, starred on the cover of Vogue Magazine, earned several major endorsement deals and even attended the Met Gala in New York City on Monday evening between Sky preseason contests. On Tuesday, she made another major announcement off the court with an NBA legend. Chicago Sky forward Angel ReeseKamil Krzaczynski-Imagn Images Pro Basketball Hall of Fame point guard Magic Johnson, famous for leading the "Showtime" Los Angeles Lakers in the 1980s, announced that he and Reese were starting a financial literacy program in Reese's hometown of Baltimore, Maryland. He reshared the announcement on his Instagram story with the following caption. Johnson wrote. WNBA fans were all over this announcement, as they praised both Reese and Johnson for the work that they were doing. Several took to social media to voice their appreciation. "Very cool of Angel Reese and Magic Johnson! Giving back to the community!!" one fan wrote. "A trailblazer," another chimed in. "Yesssss Angel giving back to her Community with the Goat So proud of you @Reese10Angel No One is doing it like you i Repeat NO ONE," one added. Advertisement "So incredibly proud of Angel!!" said another. Reese and her Chicago Sky teammates will take the floor for two more exhibition games before the regular season starts on May 17. They'll face off against the Indiana Fever on their opening night.
