Google Pixel 10 leaks: Here's all we know so far ahead of August launch

Google's Pixel series has evolved from an experimental concept into a reliable smartphone lineup over the past decade. As we await the Pixel 10, expected later this year, leaks and rumours are offering a clearer picture of what's to come. A recent sighting by X user MarksGonePublic revealed a commercial shoot for the Pixel 10, hinting at its features and design. While the phone wasn't fully visible, the appearance of a video team suggests a well-progressed launch. 🎬 Just out for a walk… stumbled onto a full-on commercial shoot for the Google Pixel 10 📱 They had a macro probe lens, a Panavision rig, and 20+ crew members… to film someone holding a phone 😂 If the Pixel camera's so good, why not just use it? 👀 #BTS #Vancouver — Mark Teasdale ★ (@MarksGonePublic) May 23, 2025 The Pixel 10 is expected to come in several models, including the base Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pro XL, and possibly a Pixel 10 Pro Fold. A Pixel 10a may also arrive in 2026 for a mid-year refresh. Processor and Performance: The Pixel 10 will be powered by the new Tensor G5 chip, an upgrade from previous versions. While not necessarily industry-leading in benchmarks, Tensor chips are known for delivering smooth, reliable user experiences, with an emphasis on AI-driven features like image processing and voice recognition. Camera Upgrades: Leaked renders show the base Pixel 10 will feature a third lens, a telephoto camera, enhancing zoom. However, the wide and ultra-wide lenses will drop to 48MP and 13MP, respectively. The Pro models will retain the 50MP/48MP/48MP setup, with the Pro Fold getting a camera sensor upgrade to 50MP for the main sensor. AI Features and New Tools: AI will be a central feature of the Pixel 10, with enhanced tools for image and video editing, as well as real-time language translation. The new Android XR augmented reality platform could also make an appearance. Pricing and Availability: The Pixel 10 is expected to start at $799, with the Pixel 10 Pro priced at $999. The Pro XL will cost around $1,200, and the Pixel 10 Pro Fold may drop to $1,599 from its predecessor's $1,799 price tag. Colours: Leaks suggest the Pixel 10 will come in Obsidian (black), Iris (purple), Limoncello (yellow), and Blue for the base model, with the Pro models offering Obsidian, Green, Sterling (grey), and Porcelain (white). As Google prepares for the Pixel 10's launch in August, it's clear the company is focusing on AI, camera upgrades, and competitive pricing. The Pixel 10 could be one of 2025's most exciting smartphones. Google Pixel 10 Spotted in Public for the First Time During Commercial Shoot

The Google Pixel 10 has made its first real-world appearance during a commercial shoot in Vancouver, offering a sneak peek at what's to come from the tech giant's next flagship. The photos, captured by photographer Mark Teasdale and shared via 9to5Google, show what appears to be the Pixel 10 Pro or Pro XL in Obsidian color—sporting a design largely consistent with the Pixel 9 series. A crew of over 20 people was seen filming on a beach, and Teasdale managed to snap images of both the device and a storyboard that hints at the ad's focus. The commercial seems to spotlight advanced AI features, with phrases like 'Ask more of your phone' indicating deeper integration of Google's Gemini Live AI and camera tools. One notable feature expected to make a return is "Add Me," first introduced with the Pixel 9. This AI-powered tool intelligently combines multiple shots to ensure everyone—including the photographer—is present in group photos. Storyboard glimpses also confirm familiar design elements like the horizontal camera bar, power button, and volume rocker, with no major visual departures from the current Pixel generation. These findings align with earlier unofficial renders from March. The Pixel 10 series is expected to launch in August, running Android 16 and powered by the new Tensor G5 chip, Google's first built in collaboration with TSMC, moving away from Samsung's manufacturing used in previous Tensor chips. This marks the most comprehensive Pixel 10 leak to date and provides early insight into Google's AI-driven future for its flagship smartphone line.

Google Fights Samsung With New Pixel 9 Pro Price Cut

Google Pixel 9 Pro XL. Photographer: David Paul Morris/Bloomberg Not to be outdone by Samsung's free device giveaway, Google has slashed the price of the Pixel 9 Pro and Pro XL in a new sitewide sale. The search company has knocked $200 off both Pixel 9 Pro devices, starting at $799 for the 128GB, down from $999. The Pixel 9 Pro XL starts at $899, down from $1,099. The base Pixel 9 and new Pixel 9a have not been discounted. Google has combined the new pricing with enhanced trade-in valuations. If you follow my deals stories, you will know that Google's trade-in offers are rarely impressive. Few companies can top how much Samsung will pay for your old phone. Google, however, does typically have the best pricing for used Pixel devices, but even Samsung has it beat here. As I said, Google's trade-in pricing isn't great, especially against Samsung's valuations. You may have a better chance on the secondary market for some of these devices. I have seen the Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max sold on eBay for upwards of $550, or the Galaxy S23 Ultra for over $500. Google's Galaxy S21 Ultra valuation is more inline with the secondary market, while its Pixel pricing beats eBay and Swappa. This is a no-thrills promotion, with no discounted accessories bundled in with the new Pixel 9 Price. Samsung, on the other hand, has included a free Galaxy Watch and Galaxy Buds with Galaxy S24 purchases. The Korean company has also dropped the Galaxy S25 Ultra price by $100 alongside enhanced trade-in prices, and discounted its flagship wearables if bought with the phone. Google doesn't often engage in this type of multi-layer discount, but its phones are cheaper overall than Apple and Samsung handsets (which has been the case since the Nexus days more than a decade ago), so it has less room to play with in terms of how deeply it can cut prices. Savvy shoppers should sign up for Google's product emails. The company has been known to send out random voucher codes to Photos users and YouTube Premium subscribers. For users who pay for Google One cloud storage, the company offers 10% cashback on all hardware purchases.
