Tributes flow for late mining boss Reinhold Schmidt
'Project Monkey King' was the official codename for the defining transaction of Reinhold Schmidt's executive career, but among trusted advisers, the former Yancoal chief executive had a different name for it; 'Project Let's F--- Them Up'.
It was a rallying cry that spoke to Yancoal's rank outsider status in the multi-billion-dollar bidding war for Rio Tinto's best NSW coal mines in 2016.
