The DC came across several shortcomings following which he directed for show cause notices to the concerned teachers. A major concern highlighted during the visit was the students' poor academic performance. Shockingly, none of the students from Classes 9 and 10 could solve a basic algebraic equation which he asked on the spot. Even a simple geometry question about the radius of a circle went unanswered.

Focus is also on targeted academic mentoring of 'high potential' students. "Many students come from economically weaker and socially backward sections. Koderma reclaims top spot with overall 97.83%
Koderma: The mica-rich district has secured the top spot this year with an overall 97.83 pass percentage in Class X board exams for (JAC). Koderma had slipped to the fifth spot last year. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now Out of 12,680 students who appeared for the examination, 12,405 passed, while 275 failed. Notably, 7,671 students secured first division, 4,324 achieved second division, and 410 received third division. This outstanding performance is credited to renewed administrative efforts and focused educational initiatives, said officials. In 2022, former DC Aditya Ranjan launched Project Rail and Project Impact to improve the performance of students and the overall condition of govt schools. Project Rail aimed at personalized support for each student, while Project Impact worked towards infrastructural and systemic school improvements. These efforts led to Koderma topping the board results in both 2022 and 2023. However, after the transfer of Ranjan in 2024, the lack of monitoring led to a decline, placing the district at fifth position in 2024. Taking note of this, the district administration and education department reactivated their efforts. Under the leadership of DC Megha Bhardwaj, school-wise responsibilities were assigned to officials, and renewed focus was placed on students' academic development.
