Read more: Prom Me Up campaign supports Fidelitas learners Matric Dance dreams What began as a dress and suit pre-selection event at Benmore Shopping Centre a month ago, culminated in a spectacular evening filled with music, dancing, and unforgettable moments, made possible by the Prom Me Up: Share Your Sparkle with Fidelitas campaign. The night was supported by a coalition of sponsors and partners, including Benmore Shopping Centre, Mercedes-Benz, The Black Coffee Foundation, Tania Noach Optometrists, Dadas Motorland Fourways, JHB VIP, Epic Foundation, Boston Media House, and Cellucity Benmore. Guests were treated to stunning decor, fine dining, and live performances from Qué DJ and DJ Kyotic, who brought the dancefloor to life. Special guest appearances by Tania Noach, and representatives from Love Maison, added to the night's sparkle. The learners arrived in style, chauffeured by Mercedes-Benz and Dadas Motorland vehicles, greeted by flashing cameras and warm cheers from staff, sponsors, and peers. One of the learners, Tintswalo Baloyi, said: 'Walking into the venue, and seeing everything so beautifully arranged, it felt like a fairy tale. When I saw the Mercedes-Benz waiting for us outside, I felt like a celebrity. 'This wasn't just about having fun; it showed us that our dreams matter, even when times are tough. I'll never forget what everyone did to make this happen.' Each detail, from professional makeup and grooming to personalised photo ops, was thoughtfully designed to give the learners the red-carpet experience they deserved. The school's principal, Moeketsi Makhothi, expressed pride and gratitude. 'Seeing our learners so full of confidence and joy tonight was priceless. The support from our partners gave them more than a dance; it gave them belief in themselves.' As the music faded and the evening drew to a close, it was clear that the Prom Me Up campaign had succeeded in creating, not just a glamorous night, but a memory that will last these matriculants a lifetime. Crawford International Sandton hosted its Prom Me Up: Share Your Sparkle with Fidelitas, an initiative dedicated to empowering learners of Fidelitas Comprehensive School in Soweto as they prepare for their matric ball. Read more: 27 Dresses is back to make young womens matric dances special The campaign, hosted on July 5 at Benmore Shopping Centre, aimed to collect prom-related items such as dresses, suits, shoes, accessories, and beauty products to help these learners attend their matric ball with confidence and pride. The event was made possible through the generous sponsorship of Crawford International Sandton and Benmore Shopping Centre, in partnership with The Black Coffee Foundation, Boston Media House, and the Epic Foundation. Crawford International Sandton project manager Shakti Maharaj said: 'The initiative underscores the importance of community engagement in creating memorable experiences for youths, especially those who might otherwise face barriers to participating fully in such milestone events. 'It's truly inspiring to see people coming together to support these students. Events like this remind us of the power of kindness and how collective effort can make a real difference in young lives.' Fidelitas Comprehensive School teacher Marcus Mabunda said: 'We are very thankful to the sponsors who made sure the dreams of our learners came true. Supporting our youth in reaching their dreams is essential. 'Matric balls are more than just celebrations; they're milestones that boost confidence and create lasting memories.' One of the learners, Baloyi Tintswalo, expressed her gratitude over the support from Crawford and all the sponsors. 'I never thought I would get the chance to attend my matric dance, because of my family's financial situation. Thanks to everyone who made my dream come true.
