The decision was made based on controlled generation costs that do not require imposing surcharges on certain users, as was done previously. ICPT is a mechanism under the Incentive-Based Regulation (IBR) for reviewing electricity tariffs every six months due to changes in actual generation costs compared to projections for the regulatory period approved by the State Government under the IBR framework. This implementation will benefit all users, including those under the Licensed Public Distribution. This means there will be no increase in electricity bills for all consumers in Sabah during this six-month period.
