Kuwait Busts Asian-Run Booze Factory In Abandoned House
KUWAIT CITY, July 13: The Ministry of Interior announced that the Public Security Sector successfully uncovered an illegal alcohol manufacturing operation inside an abandoned residence in the Sabah Al-Salem area. According to an official statement, authorities received reports indicating that Asian nationals were frequently visiting an abandoned house, raising suspicions of illicit activity. In response, security patrols were promptly deployed to the area to conduct surveillance and monitor the situation closely. During the surveillance, officers observed a bus driven by an Asian national exiting the premises. The vehicle aroused further suspicion due to its connection with the house under watch. Upon stopping the bus, security personnel immediately detected a strong foul odor coming from inside. A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of approximately 1,160 plastic bottles, all suspected to be filled with alcoholic substances prepared for illegal distribution. The suspect was immediately detained for further investigation. Officers then accompanied the suspect back to the abandoned house, where they made a significant discovery—a fully equipped underground alcohol manufacturing facility. Inside, authorities found: Three large-scale distillation units 210 barrels believed to contain locally distilled alcohol 20 empty barrels presumably intended for future use The Ministry confirmed that the suspect, along with all seized materials, was handed over to the relevant legal authorities. Bedoun Caught Impersonating Cop; Found with Guns and Narcotics
KUWAIT CITY, June 25: Officers from the West Abdullah Al-Mubarak Police Station have referred a Bedoun (stateless individual) to the General Department of Criminal Investigation on suspicion of involvement in a string of robberies by impersonating a security officer. The arrest followed a routine patrol in the West Abdullah Al-Mubarak area, where police noticed a vehicle whose driver appeared visibly anxious upon spotting the patrol. When officers attempted to approach, the suspect fled at high speed, prompting a pursuit. Backup was called, and the vehicle was eventually cornered and brought to a stop. Upon inspection, authorities discovered a cache of suspicious items inside the car, including a Kalashnikov rifle, a pistol, two walkie-talkies, four mobile phones, a bag containing the crystal meth drugs, a strip of stimulant pills, drug paraphernalia, and a security badge linked to the Public Security Sector. Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect, born in 1988, is a Bedoun. Given the presence of weapons and official-looking equipment, authorities believe he may have committed robberies by posing as a detective. The suspect will also be referred to the General Department for Drug Control for further questioning regarding possession of narcotics, before being handed over to the Public Prosecution once investigations are complete.
