Top Pump.Fun Ecosystem Tokens Tumble Amid Reports of $1B Fundraise
Fart-powered joke tokens suddenly weren't so funny for crypto traders on Tuesday. A basket of the largest ecosystem tokens faded from recent highs after Blockworks reported the Solana-based launchpad is pitching a $1 billion token sale that would value the project at roughly $4 billion. Sources told Blockworks the sale could close within weeks, though details on tokenomics remain launched on the platform slipped amid the news. Fartcoin (FARTCOIN), the largest Pump-launched token by market capitalization, dropped 7%. Peanut the Squirrel (PNUT), Moo Deng (MOODENG) and Goatseus Maximus (GOAT) gave back as much as 6%, while Alchemist AI (ALCH) — the big gainer on Monday — flipped red after an early 25% pop. The moves wiped about $150 million in aggregate value, trimming but not erasing the sector's outsized weekly gains. A billion-dollar raise means a new Pump token and, potentially, a fresh supply. Even if the deal channels cash back to users later, traders worry about a flood of 'farm-and-dump' flows hitting the very memecoins the platform helped create. Deeper concerns, however, spread across crypto circles on X as developers and traders questioned the need of a mammoth fundraise. 'Why does pump need to raise 1bn tho? how is it gonna invest that for growth if it already has made 675m and hasnt spent that either what are they planning to do with 1bn?,' DeFiLlama founder @0xngmi wrote. 'The Pump guys went through an accelerator, raised a small round, then proceeded to make almost a BILLION in revenue in 1 year and got a 4B valuation to raise another 1B,' said Mert Mumtaz, founder at Helius, 'Those are simply insane numbers in an insane amount of time.' Only three weeks ago tried to sweeten the pot users looking to issue tokens using the platform by handing 50% of PumpSwap fees — or five basis points of every trade — straight to token creators. At the time, founder Alon Cohen pitched the change as a way to eliminate rinse-and-dump behavior: If developers earn recurring fees, they don't have to dump their own coin on the community. WGA Issues ‘Do Not Work' Order Against Randall Emmett, Martin Scorsese-Produced Film ‘Wall of White'
The Writers Guild of America West has released an advisory to members ordering them to not work on 'Wall of White,' a true-story disaster film project from producers Randall Emmett and Martin Scorsese, due to Emmett's inclusion on the union's strike/unfair list. 'Emmett has a long history of refusing to honor obligations to writers and the Guild has filed numerous arbitration claims against companies owned by Emmett over the last decade,' the guild said in the advisory. 'Wall of White' is set to be adapted from a 2010 book of the same name by Jennifer Woodlief and the 2021 Netflix documentary 'Buried,' both of which recount a deadly avalanche at Lake Tahoe in 1982 that killed seven people. A rescue team was able to rescue an eighth person who was buried in the snow for five days. Emmett was first added to the strike list in 2020 after he and his longtime business partner, George Furla, failed to pay writers for work on 'Pump,' an abandoned TV project that was set to star Arnold Schwarzenegger. Their studio, Emmett/Furla Oasis films, had shut down after years of breach of contract lawsuits from financiers and production partners and millions of dollars in debt. The WGA won a judgment against Emmett/Furla Oasis for $541,464, a sum that the guild says now exceeds $700,000 with interest. In 2022, Emmett established a new production company, Convergence Entertainment Group, which is producing 'Wall of White.' TheWrap has reached out to reps for Emmett and Scorsese for comment. In a statement sent to The Los Angeles Times, which first reported the WGA advisory, Emmett said he would resolve any issues with the WGA. 'We are fully financing this movie, and we have every intention to settle this dispute in the coming weeks,' Emmett said. 'Our representatives will be reaching out to the Writers Guild so we can put this matter from six years ago behind us.' Emmett has had a working relationship with Scorsese dating back to the famed director's 2016 passion project 'Silence,' based on Shusaku Endo's novel about the persecution of Christians in 17th century Japan. Emmett and EFO Films came aboard the project as producers and financiers, allowing Scorsese to move forward on the film after more than two decades of setbacks. Emmett later served as a producer on Scorsese's 2019 film 'The Irishman,' which was released on Netflix and had a $150 million budget with CGI used to de-age the film's stars Robert De Niro, Al Pacino and Joe Pesci. Safety tips to prepare your lawn mower for spring
AGAWAM, Mass. (WWLP) – Spring is here and it's time to put away the snow blower and get out the lawn mower. If you want your lawn mower to start, you should make sure it's in good working condition. It's that time of year to put away the snow blower. But before you do, there are some important things you should do to it first. Marty Jagodowski of Taplin Yard, Pump, and Power Equipment in Agawam told 22News, 'Either run it out of gas or if it has a fuel shut off, shut the fuel shut off and just let the machine run itself out of fuel and if you can just rinse the salt off of it before you put it away.' Now our attention turns to our yards and getting out the lawn mower and there are some important things you should do to your lawn mower before you start using it for the season. Jagodowski says it's very important to check and see if mice have gotten into it, 'They eat the wires, they go right into the carburetor they clog up the machine, if you don't know they're in there and you turn it over all that nesting stuff gets into the works of the machine, they just create a real problem.' You should change your lawn mower's spark plugs and air filter and it's also important to sharpen your blade as well. And before you start mowing the lawn be sure to check for any objects or debris that might be in the grass.
