Pune Division of Central Railways celebrates Independence Day with patriotic fervour

Pune, Aug 15 (UNI) The Pune Division of Central Railways commemorated the 79th Independence Day today with great enthusiasm and patriotic spirit at the Divisional Sports Ground, Pune.
The solemn yet vibrant ceremony brought together railway officers, staff, their family members, and members of the community in a united celebration of the nation's freedom.
The programme commenced with the hoisting of the National Flag by Rajesh Kumar Verma, Divisional Railway Manager Pune, followed by the singing of the National Anthem by all present.
In his address, Verma commended the dedicated service of railway personnel and reaffirmed the Division's unwavering commitment to safety, punctuality, passenger comfort, and infrastructure upgradation.
He also urged employees to uphold the core values of integrity, inclusivity, and public service, and to continue contributing towards national development through excellence in railway operations.
The ceremony was attended by P. U. Jadhav, Additional Divisional Railway Manager (ADRM), along with senior officers and staff of the Division, said a release.
The programme featured a guard of honour presented by the Railway Protection Force (RPF), Scouts & Guides, and St. John Ambulance Brigade. Cultural performances by employees, their wards, and especially the patriotic presentations by students of Little Angels School, became the highlight of the event, drawing appreciation from the audience.
On this occasion, frontline teams were acknowledged for their tireless service in ensuring smooth railway operations, said the release.
