Not party ideology: AAP rejects Manish Sisodia's 'Saam Dam Danda Bhed' remark

Reacting to Senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Manish Sisodia's statement asking party workers to use all kinds of 'Saam Daam Dand Bhed' to emerge victorious in the 2027 Punjab Assembly elections, Punjab AAP Chief Aman Arora said that the party's ideology doesn't allow them to follow Sisodia's words. "I am part of the party and not the party. So, someone's individual statement must not be considered as party ideology. The opponents are exaggerating things,' he said. advertisementElaborating further on Sisodia's statement, Arora said, "As far as the Aam Aadmi Party and Punjab Government are concerned, AAP has always and will go to people and seek votes on development issue." "We will go to the people of Punjab with folded hands to seek votes," he said and added that everyone, whether it is the Chief Minister, Mayor or Manish Sisodia, are all part of the party and not the party. 'The video you are talking about is not the ideology of the party. This is not the ideology or thought of the party. Arvind Kejriwal and I don't approve what Manish Sisodia said. The matter has been blown out of proportion, added the Punjab AAP is to be noted that Manish Sisodia, who is also incharge of party affairs in Punjab while addressing workers, had told them to use all kinds of 'Saam Daam Dand Bhed' to ensure a victory for the party in the upcoming 2027 Punjab Vidhan Sabha has led to widespread criticism and the BJP has even approached the election commission and demanded the registration of a case against BJP president Sunil Jakhar has written to the Election Commission (EC) seeking action against Manish Sisodia for his remarks. In his complaint, Jakhar alleged that Sisodia, during a speech on August 15, had 'openly proclaimed' that to win the next Punjab election, AAP would resort to 'saam, daam, dand, bhed, sach, jooth, sawaal, jawaab, ladai, jhagda (diplomacy, incentive, punishment, division, truth, false, question, answer, fight, quarrel)'.He argued that Sisodia's words amounted to 'an open admission of intent to adopt corrupt practices, intimidate voters, spread enmity, and disturb public order in the state.'Meanwhile, Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Singh Badal appealed to the Election Commission on Monday to derecognise AAP. The SAD president, in a letter to the chief election commissioner, said Sisodia had allegedly "incited" the AAP cadre to indulge in "corrupt and violent practices" during a recent party meeting which was attended by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and AAP Punjab president Aman Arora.- EndsMust Watch
