Lindsay Lohan Shares ‘Exciting' Detail About Upcoming ‘Freakier Friday' (Exclusive)
Lindsay Lohan is ready to get freaky! The actress, 38, who will reprise her role of Anna Coleman in the upcoming film Freakier Friday, exclusively told Parade that she's ready for the world to hear a brand-new song featured in the sequel. 'I have a really beautiful song coming out in Freakier Friday, which is exciting,' she said while chatting about her partnership with Pure Leaf for the brand's 'Time for a Tea Break' campaign. 🎬 SIGN UP for Parade's Daily newsletter to get the latest pop culture news & celebrity interviews delivered right to your inbox 🎬 In the film, which reunites Lohan with her onscreen mom Jamie Lee Curtis (as Tess Coleman), the Coleman family is turned upside down when Tess and Anna as well as Anna's daughter and soon-to-be stepdaughter all swap bodies. Lohan already confirmed the return of the film's fictional band Pink Slip, comprised of Anna (Lohan) and her friends Maddie (Christina Vidal Mitchell) and Peg (Haley Hudson), who are set to rock out in Freakier Friday when the film hits theaters Aug. 8. The Mean Girls star is no stranger to original music, having released two studio albums in the early aughts: 2004's Speak and 2005's A Little More Personal (Raw). Asked if she'd ever consider getting back in the recording studio, she told Parade, 'The thing is, I feel like when I did music, I wasn't at a point in my life where I could do the music and then tour with the music. I was just kind of doing the albums and making the videos, and I didn't get to make all the videos. Like, it felt very rushed. So, yeah, I love music. I love writing.' She added, 'Never say never.' These days, what comes first for Lohan is her and her family's wellbeing. The actress is prioritizing the importance of revitalization by partnering with Pure Leaf to share how important short breaks are in your day. Related: 'I think there's a moment in every day when you're just like, 'I need to take a break.' And that's why I wanted to work with Pure Leaf again for the second time,' she said. 'I really believe in the message of taking a break. And I love unsweetened Pure Leaf iced tea. It's my favorite.' She added, 'I love the message. I value it deeply, especially being a mom who's always kind of multitasking so many things. It's important to take a minute for yourself and recharge and, you know, revitalize.' Lindsay Lohan Just Told Us the Healthy Snacks She Always Has on Hand (Exclusive)
Lindsay Lohan says she loves having snacks like gluten-free crackers and nuts on hand. In this exclusive interview, the actor shares her go-to dinners, like grilled chicken with lemon and orzo. She also talks more about her partnership with Pure Leaf and how she loves her 'me time.'Lindsay Lohan is an icon, to say the least. Whether you know her from The Parent Trap, Mean Girls or Freaky Friday, it's safe to say she was the face of the late '90s and early 2000s. Now, she prepares for the release of the bound-to-be-amazing movie sequel Freakier Friday and her first drama series Count My Lies, all while being a mom. So today, the actor fittingly launched a collaborative campaign with Pure Leaf called 'Time for a Tea Break' to help reinforce the importance of taking a break as a busy mom. Through this partnership, we were given the opportunity to chat with Lohan herself about what her ideal 'me time' looks like. They're just little circles and they're really yummy. I always keep nuts with me just because it's good for energy if I'm really hungry and on the go. Usually it's my son's snacks that are in my bag, so sometimes I'll have to have those. Luckily he likes chips now, so we can share those. Mainly I just keep mints with me if I'm just running out on my own. You have a few dinner recipes and sides on your website. Is there a favorite dinner that you love making on busy nights? Oh, I wish Thanksgiving dinner was always on rotation because I'm the biggest fan of stuffing, and it's annoying. I prepare for it months and months in advance and I get so excited, and then I make it for a month after Thanksgiving has ended. My husband's like, 'enough with the carbs in the house,' but I always have a good go-to pasta, a grilled chicken with a lemon sauce is always nice and some rice or orzo is refreshing and filling. I love the tea break aspect of the campaign. I don't think enough of us make time for ourselves to even take a five to 10 minute break, and I think it's so important. Everything's so 'go, go, go' all the time and to be forced to take a break, have some iced tea and be refreshed and revitalized, I love that message. I value it deeply. Do you have a favorite form of 'me time'? When I wake up in the morning, I get up super early and I love to just take my time. Go to the bathroom, get ready, wash my face, have that moment to myself, and then go downstairs, have some tea, make some toast or something, and then prepare my son's breakfast. That's 'me time' for me, that grounds me. Do you have advice for moms who struggle to take some time for themselves? Everyone's different, so I just say try and force yourself. Go outside, put your phone down and just take a minute. Then make it a routine—I think routine is the most important part of it. If you routinely are taking time for yourself and it's part of the structure of your day, then you're not going to avoid it. It becomes conditional. What does "eating well" mean to you? I feel like eating well means obviously what you're putting into your body, but eating well to me, I feel like isn't about filling up. I like to eat something where I still feel light after. I can have a huge salad with a bunch of different variations of proteins in it, but I don't feel too full after. I don't feel like I need to take a nap. And also I think the company that you eat with, you also eat well when you're surrounded by people that you love and friends that you can laugh with, that also means eating well to me.
