Man gets 7-year jail term in Khagaria
Khagaria: The court of special judge prohibition-I, Khagaria, Pushpam Kumar Jha on Saturday awarded seven-year imprisonment to one Dewan Mandal, son of Rajendra Mandal of Rani Talab in Fatehpur under Zero Mile police station, after finding him guilty of his involvement in smuggling of liquor.
Khagaria excise sleuths acting on a tip-off nabbed Dewan near Baluahi locality under the town police station, while he was carrying 104 bottles of IMFL in an autorickshaw on March 16, 2018. The court also slapped a fine of Rs 3 lakh on him, the court sources said.
