Qatar Airways to restart flights to Syria's Aleppo

QNA Doha Qatar Airways announced Wednesday the resumption of three weekly flights to Aleppo, Syria, from 10 August 2025. It will be increased to four weekly flights from 1 September 2025. Qatar Airways' operations to the city first began in 2011. The airline resumed flights to Damascus in early 2025, making Aleppo the second Syrian destination to connect to the airline's global network, the airline said. Aleppo will join Qatar Airways' vast network of more than 170 global destinations. The resumption represents the airline's commitment to increasing connectivity in the region and the world through Qatar Airways' award-winning hub, the world-class Hamad International Airport in Doha, Qatar. Qatar Airways Privilege Club members can make their trips more rewarding by collecting Avios on their flights as well as shopping and dining at Qatar Duty Free at Hamad International Airport. Members can spend their Avios on travel and lifestyle rewards of their choice including bidding on money-can't-buy experiences with Privilege Club Collection.

Gaming in the Sky: QA holds first-ever e-sports competition at 35,000 feet

QNA Doha Qatar Airways has set a new benchmark with the launch of a pioneering e-sports competition, 'Gaming in the Sky,' onboard a commercial aircra. The ground-breaking event was powered by next-generation Starlink connectivity and took place during a flight from Doha to London. The tournament brought together a global roster of top gaming and entertainment talent. The experience marked a new milestone in the convergence of aviation, entertainment, and technology. At 35,000 feet, the airline transformed the skies into a competitive gaming arena as two teams - Team Burgundy Oryx and Team Grey Aviators - faced off in a friendly mid-air showdown. Enabled by Starlink's ultra-fast, low-latency internet, players competed in real-time with uninterrupted gameplay and live updates on Qatar Airways' social media channels. Marking the occasion, Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive Officer, Eng. Badr Mohammed Al Meer, said: 'At Qatar Airways, we are constantly pushing the boundaries of what is possible in the sky to deliver an in-flight experience that captures the imagination and makes you feel right at home. This competition represents a bold step into the future of passenger engagement and comfort when flying with Qatar Airways.'
