Eight soldiers killed in Ecuador after clash with criminal group
QUITO (Reuters) - Eight soldiers were killed in Ecuador's Amazon region during an armed confrontation with a criminal group, the attorney general's office said on Friday. According to initial investigations, the soldiers were attacked by the criminal group during an operation related to illegal mining, the office added.
