Buraidah on the right road
BURAIDAH: Qassim municipality completed a series of operations and maintenance projects in Buraidah in the first half of 2025 as part of efforts to upgrade infrastructure and improve municipal services for citizens and residents. Work included resurfacing more than 230 km of roadway with asphalt to enhance the efficiency of the road network, improve traffic flow, and minimize damage caused by frequent usage. Municipal projects also included pothole repairs on 247,000 square meters of roadway and crack sealing over about 2.46 million square meters, contributing to longer road lifespans and heightened safety standards.

Qassim Municipality to manage, operate car parks in Buraydah
The Qassim Municipality announced that it will assume the management and operation of car parks during the transitional period within the parking development project in the center of Buraydah. In a statement, the Municipality added that all parking lots located within the scope of the project will be available free of charge from Thursday, Feb. 27 until the project is regulated and developed. In January 2022, Qassim Municipality signed a 25-year investment contract with Smart City Solutions, a subsidiary of Batic Investment and Logistics Co., for the smart parking project in Buraydah city center at a cost of SAR 422 million. On Tuesday, the Eastern Province Municipality announced that it will take over the management of parking in Dammam and Khobar, effective from Tuesday, 25 February 2025. For its part, Batic said that its subsidiary, Smart City Solutions, has investment contracts for the establishment, development and operation of parking lots for the company's investment contract in Dammam, which extends to 2045, and the investment contract in the governorates of Khobar and Dhahran, which extends to 2044. It added that it will take all legal and judicial procedures that preserve the company's rights and gains before the Administrative Court and the relevant official authorities.
