QCA named ICC Cricket 4 Good Social Impact Initiative Asia winner

The Qatar Cricket Association (QCA) has been recognized by the International Cricket Council (ICC) as one of the winners for ICC Cricket 4 Good Social Impact Initiative of the Year 2024. QCA which has held blood donation campaigns and other initiatives said, 'The milestone highlights our commitment to using cricket as a force for positive change - empowering communities and building a better future through cricket.' Cricket 4 Good Social Impact Initiative of the Year: Africa Regional Winner – Cricket Kenya; Americas Regional Winner – Cricket Chile; Asia Regional Winner – Qatar Cricket Association; EAP Regional Winner – Persatuan Cricket Indonesia; Europe Regional Winner – Cricket Switzerland. The Regional Winners will now be put forward as contenders to claim the Global Awards, determined by a specialist and independent panel of voters consisting of Indian cricket icon VVS Laxman, former West Indies leg-spinner Samuel Badree, former White Ferns wicketkeeper-batter Katey Martin, Head of Marketing – Unilever International Nitin Agarwal and representatives from ICC partners, ICC Full Members, and the media, with the Global Winners set to be revealed on ICC channels once voting concludes.

Legends Cricket Club lift QCA Challenger's Trophy 2025

Legends Cricket Club claimed the Qatar Cricket Association's Challenger's Trophy (QCT) defeating Hadico Cricket Club in the final by three wickets at the University of Doha for Science & Technology ground on Saturday. A tournament which had a total of 16 teams, (divided into four groups) competing in the Qatar Cricket Association's limited-overs tournament had begun in January 2025. Opting to bat first, Hadico CC put up a total of 127 runs before being bowled out in 19.1 overs. Usman Aslam top-scored with 36 runs while SM Nazim of Legends CC claimed four wickets for 24 runs. In reply, Legends CC attained the target in 17 overs losing seven wickets. Sunaij Kariyadan (30), Shani Rahman (26) and Ajay Jayakumar (25) were the chief contributors while SM Nazim hit a six in his four-ball stay at the crease. PV Firoz was unbeaten on 8. Nazim was named as the Man of the Match for his all-round show. (TNN)

UAE win ACC Men's U-16 West Zone Cup 2025 UAE U-16 captain Ayaan Misbah receives the 50-over ACC Men's U-16 West Zone Cup 2025 trophy from Asian Cricket Council (ACC) President Mohsin Naqvi, with Qatar Cricket Association (QCA) President Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Saud Al Thani also in attendance. UAE secured a dominant 145-run victory over Kuwait in the final at West End International Cricket Stadium on Monday, posting 317/9 before bowling out their opponents for 172 in 43.1 overs.
