Qatar's Al-Duhail Part Ways with French Coach Galtier

Al-Duhail's French manager Christophe Galtier has left the club after they decided not to renew his contract, the Qatar Stars League outfit said on Tuesday. The 58-year-old's Al-Duhail side finished second in the league, two points behind Al-Sadd, who beat them in the Qatar Cup final on penalties. They also exited the Emir Cup early. "The management of Al Duhail Sports Club extends its sincere thanks and appreciation to the technical director of the first team, Mr Christophe Galtier, and his coaching staff following the end of his contract with the club. We wish them all the best in their next endeavors," the club said on X. Al-Duhail appointed former Paris St Germain manager Galtier in October 2023 to replace Argentine Hernan Crespo.

QSL Doha Abdullah Saleh Al Sulaiti, Director of Media and Communications at the Qatar Stars League (QSL), congratulated Al Sadd on winning the Qatar Cup 2025 after defeating Al Duhail in the final on Saturday. He said, 'I would like to congratulate the technical and administrative staff, players and fans on this well-deserved victory, following strong and outstanding performance throughout the tournament's semifinal and final.' He also praised the strong technical level displayed by the competing clubs in this edition and the exciting competition between them to reach the final and win the prestigious trophy – The Glorious Cup. He added, 'I take this opportunity to extend my sincere thanks and appreciation to our partners, all media organizations and the Host Broadcaster for their great efforts with us throughout the season and in this prestigious tournament, the Qatar Cup, to which QSL attaches great importance.
