Nothing Phone (3) gets a launch schedule: Key specs, features and possible India price

After months of anticipation and several mid-range launches, Nothing has finally announced the official launch timeline for its next flagship — the Nothing Phone (3). The flagship from the company is launching in India in July 2025. The device will mark Nothing's return to the premium smartphone segment, almost two years after the launch of the Nothing Phone (2), which was launched on July 11, the exact launch date hasn't been disclosed yet, the announcement confirms what Nothing CEO Carl Pei teased during a recent AMA session on social media. He hinted that the flagship would arrive in Q3 of 2025 and even mentioned a possible price range. At present, Nothing has not revealed much about the specifications or what to expect. However, it is likely to follow its usual approach of gradually revealing features in the lead-up to the launch, something that has helped it maintain buzz in the to expect from the Nothing Phone (3)Although Nothing has kept most official details under wraps, Carl Pei has confirmed that the Phone (3) will bring major upgrades in performance, improved materials, and significant software enhancements compared to its predecessor. On the design front, the phone is expected to retain Nothing's signature transparent rear panel. However, we may see enhancements in the Glyph lighting system, offering users more customisation options and new interactive features with the Phone (3). There are also reports about a new Dot Matrix Glyph on the back which may display more advanced visual cues for notifications and real-time is also focusing heavily on AI, and the Nothing Phone (3) is expected to be the first flagship from the brand to integrate AI-driven features deeply into its user experience. Pei has previously discussed the role of AI in creating more personalised and intuitive smartphone year's budget Phone (3a) series and even the sub-brand CMF Phone (2) Pro include AI features like the TrueLens Engine 3 (an AI-powered camera system) and the Essential Key. So, we can expect Nothing to bring in these AI experiences with its true flagship and some more. The Phone (3) might also include features like context-aware UI suggestions, smarter voice commands, camera enhancements, and machine learning-powered battery Phone (3) chipset and performance upgradesUnder the hood, the Phone (3) is expected to be powered by a flagship chipset from Qualcomm Snapdragon. While the exact model hasn't been confirmed, rumours suggest it could be either the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 or the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4. Given that the new flagship is arriving almost two years after its predecessor, the chipset upgrade is likely to represent a significant leap from the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 that powered the Phone (2), promising improved multitasking, gaming performance, and energy Phone (3) rumours: Display and batteryadvertisementOn the front, leaks suggest that the Phone (3) could sport a 6.77-inch 1.5K LTPO AMOLED display with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate and peak brightness of up to 3,000 nits. The phone is also expected to house a 5,000mAh battery, with support for 50W wired and 20W wireless charging. There is no confirmation yet on whether a charger will be bundled in the box, although Nothing might include it for its Indian Phone (3) to get a powerful camera setup? This year, the budget phones from Nothing received serious camera hardware upgrades. So, for the flagship, we're expecting nothing but the best from the brand. According to leaks, the Phone (3) might feature a triple rear camera setup, including a high-resolution main sensor, an ultra-wide lens, and, for the first time, a periscope-style telephoto camera—a first for any Nothing device. On the front, the phone may offer either a 32-megapixel or a 50-megapixel Sony Phone (3) expected pricing in IndiaCarl Pei has hinted that the Phone (3) could be priced around EUR 800 globally, which roughly translates to Rs 90,500. However, Nothing is likely to adopt a more competitive pricing strategy in India, as it has done in the past. The Phone (2) launched at Rs 44,999, and while a sharp price jump is expected for the Phone (3), it's unlikely to be speculation suggests the device could be priced between Rs 55,000 and Rs 65,000 for the base variant. This price tag would put Phone 3 in direct competition with other flagships like the Pixel 9a, iPhone 16e, and the OnePlus 13.

OnePlus' compact flagship is almost ready for global release

OnePlus 13s is a bit of an awkward device from a marketing point of view. The name makes it stand out from just about every other lineup of phones released by OnePlus until now. We're not sure if there's a reason for this, but one thing's sure, the OnePlus 13s is the global variant of the OnePlus 13T, a phone that will remain exclusively available in China. For the first time since the OnePlus 13s was rumored, a retailer has listed the phone confirming its existence. Amazon India now has a dedicated website where customers can sign up to be notified when the phone becomes available for purchase. We even know the OnePlus 13s will be available in Black and Pink colors, just like the OnePlus 13T. However, it appears that the Gray version will remain exclusive to China, at least for the time being. OnePlus 13s will be available in black and pink | Image credit: Amazon India Sadly, apart from some pictures of the phone, Amazon India reveals little else about the OnePlus 13s. For example, the retailer confirms the phone is equipped with a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, which is the same chipset used by OnePlus India also reveals that the OnePlus 13s comes with a so-called Plus Key, which is supposed to replace the alert slider, a feature that was very treasured among OnePlus fans, so we're not sure how many will react to this. We're not sure when exactly the OnePlus 13s will be launched in India, but we suspect it won't be long now. As far as the rest of the specs go, since this a version of the OnePlus 13T meant for markets outside of China, it's probably going to pack similar specs. Also, as per OnePlus' statement, the 13s could be launched in other countries soon after its release in India. – OnePlus, April 2025 OnePlus 13s is expected to feature the same specs as the 13T | Image credit: Amazon India From a pure PR perspective, it's perfectly fine to hype up your product by hinting to a wider release. OnePlus' statement regarding the 13s is vaguely enough to instill both hope and despair in the minds of its fans. Saying that it's "actively looking into launch possibilities in more regions" strongly suggests that OnePlus wants to bring the 13s in more countries. But what I believe gives it away is the fact that the OnePlus 13s will "first" be available in India, which almost confirms sequential releases in other countries. In any case, it remains to be seen in what capacity OnePlus decides to copy the 13T's specs sheet. Speaking of which, the OnePlus 13T is a compact flagship smartphone. Besides the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, the device sports a 6.32-inch AMOLED display with 1216 x 2640 pixels resolution, 120 Hz refresh rate, and Crystal Shield Glass protection. Also, OnePlus' compact flagship packs a dual camera (50 MP main + 50 MP telephoto), a 16-megapixel front-facing selfie snapper, and a generous 6,260 mAh battery with 80W wired fast charging support.

This top Android brand will still use Snapdragon 8 series chips alongside its in-house option

Robert Triggs / Android Authority TL;DR Xiaomi and Qualcomm have signed a multi-year partnership to lead innovation in the premium smartphone space. Despite developing an in-house chip, the Chinese smartphone giant will continue offering flagships featuring Snapdragon 8 series chips. It will be among the first OEMs to launch a flagship with the next-gen Snapdragon 8 series chip later this year. Xiaomi is typically among the first smartphone makers to launch a flagship with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon chip each year. Although the company is on track to launch an in-house smartphone chipset this month, its future flagships will continue to feature Snapdragon 8 series chips. Qualcomm and Xiaomi have a long-standing partnership, and the companies are celebrating 15 years of ongoing collaboration this year. To celebrate this milestone, the brands have inked a multi-year agreement 'to lead innovation with premium smartphones.' As part of this agreement, Xiaomi will continue to offer flagship phones featuring Snapdragon 8 series chips. Like in previous years, it will be one of the first smartphone OEMs to adopt the next-generation Snapdragon 8 series chip shortly after Qualcomm unveils it at this year's Snapdragon Summit in September. Since Qualcomm is hosting the Snapdragon Summit much earlier this year, we expect Xiaomi to unveil its next-gen flagship phone a month earlier than usual. So far, we haven't seen any information about the device, but we expect details to surface in the coming months. Xiaomi says its partnership with Qualcomm will extend beyond smartphones. The companies will collaborate to drive advancements in the automotive, AR/VR, wearable, and tablet spaces, and we can expect to see the fruits of this partnership over the next several years.
