A convenience store visit just won somebody a life-changing pile of cash in North Carolina, and it's not clear if the winner realizes it. The N.C. Education Lottery says someone driving through Forsyth County bought a 100X the Cash ticket on Wednesday, April 9, and matched the numbers for a $415,970 jackpot. 'The winner purchased the lucky ticket at the Quality Mart on Yadkinville Highway in Pfafftown,' lottery officials said in a news release. 'At the time of the win, the Fast Play jackpot had just reached $215,970. Since it was a $20 ticket, 100% of the jackpot can be claimed plus $200,000.' Winners have 180 days to claim prizes at lottery headquarters in Raleigh. Odds of winning the jackpot — plus the $200,000 cherry on top — are 1 in 320,000, the game reports. The Quality Mart where the ticket was purchased is about a 10-mile drive northwest from Winston-Salem. The 100X the Cash game is a drawing with a 'progressive' jackpot that grows until someone picks the correct numbers. Tickets range from $2 to $20 and the amount won depends on the ticket price.
