Someone in NC has a lottery ticket worth $416,000. Here's where it was sold
A convenience store visit just won somebody a life-changing pile of cash in North Carolina, and it's not clear if the winner realizes it.
The N.C. Education Lottery says someone driving through Forsyth County bought a 100X the Cash ticket on Wednesday, April 9, and matched the numbers for a $415,970 jackpot.
'The winner purchased the lucky ticket at the Quality Mart on Yadkinville Highway in Pfafftown,' lottery officials said in a news release.
'At the time of the win, the Fast Play jackpot had just reached $215,970. Since it was a $20 ticket, 100% of the jackpot can be claimed plus $200,000.'
Winners have 180 days to claim prizes at lottery headquarters in Raleigh.
Odds of winning the jackpot — plus the $200,000 cherry on top — are 1 in 320,000, the game reports.
The Quality Mart where the ticket was purchased is about a 10-mile drive northwest from Winston-Salem.
The 100X the Cash game is a drawing with a 'progressive' jackpot that grows until someone picks the correct numbers. Tickets range from $2 to $20 and the amount won depends on the ticket price.

'I didn't expect that.' The lucky winner is from Conover, in Catawba County and a roughly 45-mile drive northwest from Charlotte. She hopes to put her prize money toward bills and donate to cat rescue organizations. It's not the first time a huge prize made someone wake up. Another North Carolina lottery player was drinking his morning coffee when he realized his ticket was going to make him richer, McClatchy News reported in October.

Man discovers his NC lottery ticket is worth 1,000 times more than he believed
A lottery player got confused — in the best kind of way — when he realized his $2,000 win was actually $2,000,000, according to the North Carolina Education Lottery. Jose Analco Ramirez of Greensboro purchased the $20 scratch-off in the 100X The Cash game on Thursday, May 29, lottery officials said in a May 30 news release. The odds of winning $2 million, the game's top prize, are 1 in 1,853,616. 'I saw the two at first and thought it was $2,000,' Ramirez told lottery officials. 'It was like a fairy tale turned into reality. ... It just didn't feel real. It still doesn't feel real.' The ticket was purchased at a Circle K store on New Garden Road in Greensboro, about a 75-mile drive northwest from Raleigh. Ramirez went to lottery headquarters in Raleigh on Friday, May 30, to collect his prize and had to make a tough choice between a smaller lump sum check or 'an annuity of $100,000 over 20 years,' officials said. 'He chose the lump sum of $1.2 million and, after required tax withholdings, took home $861,006,' lottery officials said. Ramirez told lottery officials he plans 'to invest and possibly start a business.'
