Jodie Turner-Smith Shares Cryptic Message Amid Joshua Jackson Custody Drama

Jodie Turner-Smith appeared to shade her ex-husband, Joshua Jackson, amid a disagreement between the two over their daughter's schooling. Turner-Smith and Jackson share one child together, a 5-year-old named Juno. Jackson recently filed an emergency custody order modification ― according to documents obtained by People magazine ― over a development in Juno's education. The 'Dawson's Creek' actor alleges that Turner-Smith abruptly changed Juno's school without his permission. 'Jodie is attempting to create a scenario where Juno travels with her rather than attending a traditional school,' Jackson said in the documents. After news broke of the conflict between the two, Turner-Smith shared a post on Instagram that seemed to call out her ex-husband. The post includes animated photos of cartoon villains and reads ''Why don't you like that person? They seem so nice.' You know who else seemed to be nice.' Turner-Smith added her own commentary in her Instagram stories, writing '🤦🏾♀️ stay safe out there ⚠️.' Reps for Turner-Smith and Jackson did not immediately return HuffPost's requests for comment. The former couple married in December 2019, one year after meeting at Usher's 40th birthday party. Juno was born in April 2020. Turner-Smith would go on to file for divorce in October 2023, citing 'irreconcilable differences.' The 'Queen & Slim' actor previously shared that she doesn't view the two's marriage ending as a 'failure.' 'Sometimes things we really want to work just don't end up working. And that's OK,' she told the U.K.'s Sunday Times in an interview published in 2024. 'The most important thing is that you choose what's healthiest for you and your family and definitely your children.' Turner-Smith later shared that the former couple were going through an 'adjustment period' as they learned how to co-parent. 'Nobody hands you a manual,' the actor said in a candid chat with Glamour U.K. last year. 'Everyone's trying to figure it out. Each parent has a different life, and especially if the reason why you're splitting up is because you have different lives, it's only further complicated by how you're going to coparent.' Jodie Turner-Smith's Cryptic Post, Joshua Jackson Custody Drama

A few weeks ago, news broke that Joshua Jackson and Jodie Turner-Smith had finalized their divorce. The pair, who split in 2023 after four years of marriage, agreed to maintain 'joint legal and physical custody' of their 5-year-old daughter, Juno, until a 'specific parenting plan' is negotiated. Last week, it was reported that Joshua, 46, had filed an emergency custody order against Jodie, 38. According to multiple outlets, including People and E! News, Joshua filed a motion on May 30 alleging that Jodie had enrolled Juno into a new school without his consent, and beyond a 45-minute commute from his house, which they'd apparently set agreements around. Joshua also purportedly claimed that he and Jodie have very different ideals for their daughter's education, alleging that Jodie had said Juno's academic experience doesn't 'require a fixed location.' Jodie hasn't publicly addressed the custody order — though she did share a cryptic message to her Instagram stories this week. The Queen & Slim star reposted a meme originally shared by @netflixnmovies that read, ''Why don't you like that person? They seem so nice.' You know who else seemed to be nice,' alongside a bunch of animated movie characters who turned out to be villains. "🤦🏾‍♀️ stay safe out there ⚠️ ,' Jodie wrote alongside the meme. Interesting. We'll keep you posted if anything else unfolds.

Joshua Jackson, Jodie Turner-Smith settle divorce after 18-month struggle

Joshua Jackson and Jodie Turner-Smith have settled their contentious divorce, more than a year and a half after the 'Queen & Slim' actress first filed. The actors, who met at Jackson's 2018 birthday bash and married the next year, finally reached a settlement, according to new legal documents obtained Saturday by TMZ. The 46-year-old 'Doctor Odyssey' star and Turner-Smith, 38, settled on a lump sum, agreeing he will pay $2,787 in monthly child support and no spousal support, according to the outlet. Although a mediator helped them agree on a temporary schedule for joint custody of daughter Juno, 5, the exes have yet to agree on where the little girl will go to school — but the 'Agency' star has a location in mind and has ensured its proximity to Jackson. Turner-Smith hopes a judge will give her the ability to select a school, even as Jackson refuses to sign off — and that Jackson will pay $75,000 for her attorney's fees regarding the matter. Just before last Christmas, Turner-Smith claimed Jackson owed her $8,543 per month in back child support and $28,641 per month in back spousal support, after he allegedly bailed on more than a year's worth of child and spousal support payments since her divorce filing. At the time, she was seeking $250,000 from Jackson in legal fees, in addition to fees for her forensic accountant, who was charged with ferreting out financial misconduct and irregularities. Jackson, she claimed, 'ensured me that I would not have to worry about financial security for our daughter if we ever separated because he said he understood how difficult life can be as a Black woman and a single mother.' The former couple secretly tied the knot in December 2019. They didn't have a prenup in place when, in early fall 2023, famed divorce attorney Laura Wasser filed Turner-Smith's divorce docs, citing irreconcilable differences. They reached a custody agreement in November 2023. ______

Joshua Jackson, Jodie Turner-Smith Finalise Divorce After 5 Years Of Marriage

Los Angeles: Hollywood actors Joshua Jackson and Jodie Turner-Smith have finally arrived at the settlement in their divorce. However, they are yet to arrive at a mutual consensus when it comes to their daughter's education, reports 'People' magazine. The 'Dawson's Creek' alum, 46, and the Queen & Slim actress, 38, have agreed to the terms of their split, according to legal documents obtained by 'People' though the couple has yet to agree on where their daughter, 4-year-old Juno, will be going to school. TMZ was first to report the news. The couple has agreed that they'll use a mediator to plan a schedule for the 50-50 custody of their daughter, that Joshua will pay $2,787 in child support and that there will be no monthly spousal support, rather a lump sum. In addition to the terms the couple has agreed on, Turner-Smith also claims, in other court documents, that Jackson has pushed back on a court order regarding her making the decision tied to where their daughter will go to school. Representatives for both Turner-Smith and Jackson did not immediately respond to requests for comment. As per 'People', in the declaration, Turner-Smith said that she and her former husband "participated in a full-day mediation" with a judge in May 2024 and resolved their "temporary custody issues" for their daughter's 2024-25 school year. Following the judge's term with them, both Turner-Smith and Jackson later entered "into a Stipulation and Order to resolve the issue of selection of Juno's school', with Turner-Smith writing that it authorized her "to make the final decision" regarding their daughter's education. She wrote in the document, "As such, I have the clear authority to make the school selection in Juno's best interest, and Josh is refusing to adhere to the terms of the Stipulation and Order and is depriving me of the right to select the school'.

Joshua Jackson and Jodie Turner-Smith finalize divorce; clash over daughter's schooling

Joshua Jackson and Jodie Turner-Smith seal divorce; fight over daughter's education Joshua Jackson and Jodie Turner-Smith have formally resolved their divorce — yet one key source of disagreement persists: where their 4-year-old daughter, Juno, will attend school. According to legal documents obtained by an online portal, the Dawson's Creek alum, 46, and the Queen & Slim actress, 38, have agreed to the core terms of their split. The couple will share 50/50 custody of their daughter, use a mediator to coordinate the custody schedule, and Joshua Jackson will pay $2,787 per month in child support. No monthly spousal support will be issued; instead, a lump sum settlement has been arranged. Yet, the matter of Juno's education remains to cause contention. Turner-Smith asserts that even after a court-approved agreement that gives her sole authority to make decisions regarding their daughter's education, Jackson is opposing that decision. Turner-Smith says she and the exes reached an agreement after an all-day May 2024 mediation before a judge. They settled temporary custody arrangements for Juno during the 2024–2025 school year. The resulting agreement granted Turner-Smith the right legally to select the school Juno would attend that was in what was found to be her best interest. As such, I have the unequivocal right to make the school choice in Juno's best interest, and Josh is refusing to comply with the stipulations of the Stipulation and Order and is depriving me of the right to choose the school," Turner-Smith said. She also elaborated that she selected a school that provides "a stable and diverse environment" where she thinks Juno will "thrive both academically and personally." She informed Jackson of her decision to enroll their daughter in April already, even before the child was formally accepted. In spite of numerous attempts to work together with Jackson and a joint consultation with an education specialist, Turner-Smith asserts Jackson informed her he "never intended to honor" the school-choice order. In accordance with her affidavit, his attorneys subsequently objected to Juno's enrollment on grounds of logistical issues, such as drive time to and from school. Representatives for both Jackson and Turner-Smith have not made any public statements regarding the most recent developments up to this point. Although their divorce has been made legal, it's evident that co-parenting choices — particularly those as profound as schooling — remain a work in progress between the former pair.
