Chicopee man wins $100,000 Mass Cash prize
WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – A lucky Chicopee resident is the winner of a $100,000 Mass Cash grand prize. Steven Dygon Jr. won his prize on a free Quic Pic ticket that he received during the Massachusetts State Lottery's 'Fishin' for Quic Pics' promotion. Lottery skid extends through April From May 6 to 19, lottery players in the state had the opportunity to win a free $1 Quic Pic ticket for Mass Cash, Keno, or The Numbers Game by purchasing any single ticket on a draw or monitor game for $4 or more. Dygon Jr. received this special ticket after making a qualifying Keno purchase at 7-Eleven, located at 425 Springfield Street in Springfield. The winning numbers were 10-11-15-18-25, which were selected during the May 16 Mass Cash drawing. On Tuesday, Dygon Jr. claimed his winnings at the West Springfield claim center. He said he plans on using his prize to take his children to Disney. 7-Eleven in Springfield will receive a $1,000 bonus for its sale of the ticket that produced the promotional ticket prize. Check your lottery tickets. You may have won a Powerball prize and not even know it. A $1 million prize and a $50,000 prize won on separate Powerball tickets sold in Massachusetts for drawings that took place in April 2024 have yet to be claimed. Time is running out to claim them, lottery officials said Friday. Powerball prize winners have one year from the date of the drawing to claim prizes. The winning ticket for a $1 million Powerball prize was sold on April 6, 2024 at Route 110 Convenience, 196 East St., Methuen, officials said. The winning numbers are 22-27-44-52-69 with Powerball 9. The winning ticket for a $50,000 Powerball prize was sold on April 1, 2024 at 7-Eleven, 237 Main St., North Reading, officials said. The winning numbers are 19-24-40-42-56 with Powerball 23. Both tickets were purchased for drawings that featured a jackpot of over $1 billion that eventually grew to $1.326 billion and was hit on April 6, 2024 on a ticket sold in Oregon, officials said. Lottery prizes that expire become part of the net profit that the Lottery returns to the Commonwealth for distribution to all 351 cities and towns. Prizes up to $103,000 can be claimed at Lottery claim centers, which are located in Braintree, Dorchester, Lawrence, New Bedford, West Springfield and Worcester. The $1 million prize must be claimed at Lottery headquarters in Dorchester. Powerball drawings are conducted every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. The cost of each play is $2. Players pick five out of 69 numbers and a Powerball number between 1 and 26. There is also a Quic Pic option. Tickets that match the first five numbers drawn win a $1 million prize, while tickets that match four out of five numbers plus the Powerball win a $50,000 prize. This is a developing story. DORCHESTER, Mass. (WWLP) – A man from Norton is the winner of a $25,000 a year for life prize in the multi-state 'Lucky for Life' game. Fall River woman wins $1 million on 'Emerald Mine 50X' scratch ticket Leonard Portanova of Norton's Quic Pic ticket matched the five numbers selected in the March 7th drawing. He claimed his prize on March 10th and chose the cash option and received a one-time payment of $390,000, before taxes. When asked what he was going to do with his winnings, Portanova said he planned to help his kids with the winnings. The ticket was purchased at Quick Stop Shop at 250 East Main Street in Norton, which will receive a $5,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket. 'Lucky for Life' winners have one year from the drawing date to claim their winnings. Norton man wins nearly $400K off ‘Lucky for Life' ticket
NORTON, Mass. (WPRI) — A Norton man is now nearly $400,000 richer. The Massachusetts State Lottery announced Tuesday that Leonard Portanova won the $25,000 a year for life prize in the Lucky for Life game after his first five numbers on his Quic Pic ticket matched those selected in the March 7 drawing. Portanova, who claimed his prize Monday, chose to instead receive a one-time cash payment of $390,000 before taxes, as opposed to the annuitized option. He told the Massachusetts State Lottery that he plans on using his winnings to financially assist his kids. Portanova purchased the winning ticket at the Quick Stop Shop off East Main Street in Norton. The store will receive a $5,000 bonus for selling that ticket.
